When Emily arrived home, she tried her best to avoid Alison. All the lights were turned out in the home and she knew that Ali had probably already put the girls to bed. She went into their room and saw her little angels sleeping. She laughed at how differently the girls slept. Lily's arms were thrown over her head as she slept on her back. Grace was sleeping on her stomach with her thumb in her mouth. She went and kissed both of their cheeks. She sighed before closing their door and walked to their room.
Ali was just walking out of the bathroom when she laid eyes on her wife. She smiled but it soon sank when Emily gave her an uneasy smile. She stopped moving.
"Emily, what's wrong?"
"Ali, I-"
Just as Emily was about to confess to what happened earlier that night, Ali's phone began to go off. She walked over to it, not sure she was ready for whatever Emily was about to say. As she looked at the message, her heart stopped. There, in her phone, were pictures of Emily and Paige. The last picture however is what took her breath away. She looked up at Emily with tears beginning to fall down her cheeks.
"Ali? What's wrong?"
Instead of answering Em, Ali threw her phone at her. Emily stared at Ali before gulping and looking down at the phone. She looked back up at Ali with her mouth opening.
"Ali, this is what I'm trying-"
"Did you kiss that bitch!?"
"No Ali! She kissed me but I-"
"God Emily! This is what I'm talking about! Are you trying to tell me that you're leaving me?"
"Hell no Ali! Why would you even think that?"
"I don't know what to think right now Emily. Tell me."
"If you would just-"
"How could I be so stupid?! I can't raise two kids by myself!"
"And you won't because I'm not going anywhere!"
They stare at each other. Ali's mind getting more hysterical by the moment.
"Oh God. I'm going to be a single mother!"
"No! You're not!"
"Get out Emily! Just leave!"
"What? You're not even going to hear me out?!"
"So you can lie? No Emily, go!"
Emily couldn't believe this. Her wife was putting her out of their home. Her heart felt like it was breaking in two. She tried walking closer to Ali.
"Ali, please. Please hear me out."
"It hurts Em! Please! It hurts!"
She watched as Ali dropped to her knees. She went to sit beside her but Ali scooted away from her.
"Please just go Em."
Emily began to sob as she sat on the floor in front of the love of her life. She wouldn't even listen to her. As she watched Ali cry, she just wanted to grab and comfort her but she knew Ali didn't want to see her or talk with her right now. So she grabbed her duffle bag and stuck a few outfits in there and some under clothes and her hygiene products before walking out.
As she walked down the stairs, she started thinking about places to go. She didn't want to bother Hanna and Caleb since it was approaching 10 at night. Aria and Ezra were in New York for the rest of the week and Spencer and Toby had date night. She simply didn't want to bother her friends. Her mom was probably sleep since she had to be to work at 6 in the morning. So she simply sat in her car.
Ali couldn't stop crying. The thought of losing Emily caused a sharp pain to reside in her chest. She never wanted to be without Emily in her life but seeing the lips that she loves so much attached to someone else made her weak. She didn't know what to do with herself but she knew she had to get off the floor. She got into their bed and grabbed Emily's pillow. It smelled just like Emily and gave her small comfort. Enough to close her eyes and got to sleep.
Em contemplated sleeping in the car. She was so exhausted and didn't want to leave her family. She tried to get comfortable in the car but she couldn't find a position to agree with her back. She sighed before deciding to go to the hotel that was down the street from their house. She just wanted to sleep off this nightmare.
*In The Shadows*
She saw the moment Emily walked out of the house, wiping tears from her eyes. She noted the bag thrown over Emily's shoulder. She knew the pictures worked.
"Cheer up my love. It'll be over soon."
She saw the car crank and began to back out of the driveway. She turned her car on, knowing that this is the perfect time to make her move. A distracted and weak Emily wouldn't know what hit her.
*With Emily*
She pulled up to the hotel and took a deep breath. She laid her head on the steering wheel, wishing the dull ache in her chest would go away. The thought of not being with her favorite girls felt like the end of the world. She walked into the main office and paid for a room. She felt that Ali just needed time to cool off. She had to talk to Ali tomorrow. Being away from them a second night would kill her.
As she walked to her room, she felt like someone was watching her. She looked behind her but couldn't see anything. She turned back around and quickened her steps. As soon as she unlocked the door, she tried to slide right in and close the door behind her but a foot blocked the door from shutting. When she didn't hear the door clamp shut, she turned around and gasped.
"Emily, my love. We meet again."
Emily began to walk backwards after she got over her shock.
"Oh my God! Wha-what are you doing here?"
"I came back for you."
"I-I- I thought you were dead."
"No. Just waiting for the perfect moment to reclaim what's mine. Don't you miss me?"
"I-"
They stared at each other for a while before a look passed over Emily's face.
"It was you wasn't it? You sent Alison that picture of me and Paige."
"Yes. It was me. Although tonight couldn't have turned out better if I had planned it myself."
"Why are you doing this?"
"For you. Now you're free to come be with me."
"I love my wife, my family!"
Hearing Emily say that pissed her off.
"No! You love me! And now that you know I'm alive, you can stop pretending."
"I'm not pretending. I love Alison. I've always loved Alison!"
To hear her say that, made her snap! She loved her! She was hers and hers only! Just as she was about to yell, she saw Emily look at the stick that was holding up the air conditioner in the window. Just as Em made a move to lunge for it, the woman pulled out her gun and hit Emily across the back of her head, knocking her out.
"I didn't want to hurt you my love. But you left me no choice."
She went and picked up Emily's bag, slinging it over her shoulder. She then poked her head outside the room, making sure the coast was clear. She then picked Em's shoulders up, dragging her outside to her car. When she had Emily in her backseat, she closed the door and got into the driver seat. She looked back at Emily.
"You're still so beautiful. I'll never let you go."
And she drove off into the night. Happy that she finally had the woman she loves back with her.
"I'll never let you go again Emily. Never."
