"Riker," I took a pause and looked at him with a sad expression. I saw his face fall. "of course!" I squealed. His face lights up like a Christmas tree and he did a happy dance in his seat. I saw Veronica shoot lasers at me with her expression but I didn't care. Riker Lynch was mine.
"Since we're now officially dating, can I come up with a nickname for you?" I giggled at his sheepish comment and nodded. I stirred my soup around and ate a spoonful, moaning at the amazing taste. Riker thought for quite some time and then snapped into reality.
"What'd you come up with?" I asked him, dunking a cracker into my tomato and pasta pool.
"How about, Marilyn Monroe."
"Really?" I replied.
"You don't like it?"
"No I do! It's just-" I almost told him about Christian. "That who I was named after!"
"Really? Awesome! I picked it because of the way that your curls have loosened up and fallen, made me think of her. And you're beautiful like her," Riker paused to push a piece of hair that fell in my eyes out of my face.
"Thank you, Riker." I blushed. We finished our soups with small talk and Riker payed the bill. He took my hand and lead me out of the bistro and to the car. As he made his way to the park, I couldn't help up gaze at him. He caught me and raised an eyebrow.
"What are you thinking about?"
"I never thought that anyone would want me to date them. Let alone the person who used to bully me." He smiled and kept his concentration on the road.
"I told you, I've always had this fantasy crush on you, I just didn't know how to tell you. Trust me, I've learned my lesson." I'm laughed and Riker cracked a smile. We reached the park and I took off my shoes, my feet were killing me, leaving them in my seat. Riker and I walked and talked about anything and everything.
"Look at the stars Marilyn. They are bright, but they'll never shine as bright as you." I blushed as Riker lifted my chin with his fingers. I shivered at his touch. He then placed his hands on the small of my back while mine made their way to the back of his neck.
"Riker, thank you." I said.
"No Marilyn, thank you. Thank you for giving me another chance. I know I haven't always been the sweetest person, but I think that with you in my life, I can definitely turn from my old ways." Riker started to lean in and so did I. Right as our lips grazed over each other, rain started to bucket down. Our lips connected and I felt all sorts of tickles and butterflies in my stomach when they did. We pulled away after a few seconds that seemed like hours.
"Woah." We both said. My hair was soaked and I'm quite sure I looked horrible. Riker must've sensed I was being this way because he said,
"Marilyn, you always look gorgeous." He combed through my hair with his fingers and leaned down to kiss my forehead.
"Thank you." Rain had matted his hair together and I raked it off his face.
"Jump." Riker said and I do. He caught me bridal style and took me to the car. He fished around in the trunk and handed me a blanket and a towel.
"Aren't you cold?" I asked him.
"I'll be fine." He turned up the heat and pulled out of the park and found my house. The winds were picking up and I was worried for Riker's sake.
"Riker, you can't drive in this. It's too dangerous." I lead him up the steps to my house and unlocked the door. My aunt was still on the couch with Darren and they were watching the news.
"Winds are gusting up to eighty miles an hour with heavy rain. The national weather service has advised no one to be out and driving in this. Find the nearest shelter and we'll keep you updated." The tv broadcasted. I turned to Riker.
"See? It's too dangerous." I then turned to my aunt. "Auntie, can Riker stay the night?" She smiled and nodded. I lead Riker to my room and clapped on the lights.
"Nice place." I smiled at him and found a pair of my dad's sweats and a shirt that I took after he died. I handed them to Riker and I showed him my bathroom.
"Take a shower if you need too." I told him. He nodded and I closed the door, heading into my room. I found my cow print pajama pants and a t-shirt that had cows on it as well. I took a quick shower in my aunt's room and put on my fresh clothes. I brushed my teeth and hair, leaving it down. I got back into my room to see Riker studying all of my posters.
"You like Ariana Grande?" He asks.
"Yeah. I really want to go to a concert, but I don't have any money saved to buy tickets." I sigh laying down on my bed. "And Etta James, Christina Aguilera, girls like that." He smiled at me but it quickly faded as he heard the wind howl and shriek outside.
"I hate storms." He said.
"We can sleep in the basement you know. There's a guest room down there." I got up and grabbed some spare pillows and blankets, and my favorite cow.
"You really love cows don't ya?" He teased me. I hopped down the stairs and Riker followed me. I unlocked the guest room to find my aunt and Darren sleeping and quickly close it. I think he saw me so that drove me to walk/run to my music room.
"Yes I do. And we'll have to sleep in the music room." I crossed the hall and enter into my music room. The floor was soft white carpet and it had my piano, microphone, and recording booth. I also kept my MacBook down there so I could burn discs and study.
"Coolness! You moved the piano because it used to be in the main part of your basement." I started to make us a blanket bed, fluffing the pillows and dimming the lights. Riker and I crawled under the covers and he wrapped his arms around my body.
"Goodnight Marilyn." I felt his lips graze my forehead.
"Goodnight Riker."
A/N: Awe! They're together! So cute! I loved writing this chapter! Favorite color? Mine is pink!
