Temporary

I looked into her eyes,
And I knew she could do better.
Her heart twice as wide as mine,
Her hands, open as the sky,
Her eyes, big as the moon
Looked back at me.....

She could be so much more to someone,

To me she's a flower,
Growing in my dirt,
Distracting me from everything else,
With her beautiful, colorful petals..

She's there covering up my past, making me happy for a little while
But flowers are temporary,
What grows, must die...

She hid my pain from me for a while,
Her pretty eyes did make me smile,
But now it's time for her to go.
I know I have to let go of her,
For she's not my love, she's just the temporary replacement....
