Peeling my eyes open the first thing I saw was Scott sleeping on an uncomfortable looking chair. I smiled at the way his head was hanging behind him. I was also kind of glad he was here, but surprised he had stayed.

As if sensing me looking at him his head jerked up as he suddenly became alert. I laughed at him. His body seemed to relax as he looked at me with a smile. “Hey, how are you feeling?” He asked.

“Fine, I’m ready to leave though.” I mumbled.

“Good, we can leave once I talk to the doctor. I um, I got some clothes over there for you.” He said as he got up and left. He had pointed to a chair that sat next to the dresser across the room.

Slowly I stood up, glad that the IV was no longer in my arm and walked over to the chair. I held up a black t-shirt that seemed way too big for me and a pair of gray sweat pants that were also pretty large.

Pursing my lips I changed into the clothes, rolling up the waist band of the sweat pants so that it was tighter and didn’t fall off of me. Scott came in the room and smiled when he saw me in the clothes.

After a moment he handed me a bag with my old clothes along with my shoes. I slipped the converse on and looked at Scott.

“Ready?” He asked.

I held up my finger before digging through the bag in search of my jacket. Once I had found it I put it on, looking in the mirror. Sighing I turned to Scott. “I look stupid.” I told him.

He chuckled. “You look fine. Come on.” He said as he motioned towards the door.

With another sigh I walked out of the room, Scott leading me out of the hospital. I was going to ask why they had let me out without my dad being here but decided I didn’t want to think about the hospital.

We got into Scotts car before he started the engine and took off.

After a while of driving I realized he wasn’t taking me home.

I sat up and looked at Scott. “Where are we going?”

“Um, my place.” He said with bright cheeks. I was surprised to see him blush and I had to say it was cute.

               “Why?”

“I wanted to talk to you.” He said, and that was it. With a sigh I slumped back in my seat but was secretly happy that I wasn’t going home.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the hospital we pulled up to a large three story house, or I could say mansion. It was surround by trees, a small road opening in the forest led to here. It was beautiful, the home and the forest around it.

“This is where you live?” I asked in awe.

Scott smiled sheepishly when I looked at him. “Yeah, family home.” He muttered as he climbed out of the car. As soon as his door shut mine opened, Scott in front of me. I was taken aback by his quickness but slid out of the car. Scott grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the front door.

Walking in, I was hit by the smell of bacon and syrup. My stomach growled in need and I looked down, my cheeks heating up. Scott laughed as he placed his hand on my back, lightly pushing me towards the kitchen. The house had an old feel to it, but was comforting at the same time. The front room was small, mostly just an entrance with two couches that faced each other in the middle and a coffee table between the two. There were two sets of stairs on opposite sides of the room, both leading upstairs. Looking past the railing above on the second level I could see another set of stairs. Scott moved us past the couches and into a hallway that went in all directions. We walked left, walking into a kitchen a dining room next to it. Looking behind us I wondered what was behind the closed door across the hallway.
