Chapter Thriteen
I watched, part in fear, as Scott stepped back from me, stripping of his shirt. Scott shook off his arms before unbuttoning his jeans. My eyes widened and I looked away.
“Don’t worry; I’ll keep my boxers on.” I heard Scott chuckle, along with the shuffling of fabric. I turned back to see a half naked Scott in front of me. He cleared his throat before looking at me worriedly, as to make sure I was okay. I nodded, taking a breath.
Scott closed his eyes, tilting his head up slightly. The veins in his arms popped out along with the muscles in his neck. Suddenly I heard the sound of bones popping making me cringe slightly. Looking down I saw Scott’s legs were twisted and I gasped. Soon Scott was crouched down as more and more bones popped. His back arched his arms bent, even his neck was tilted as his bones shifted. I watched closely as his face began to stretch outward.
My eyes got wider and wider with disbelief as I watched him change shape.
I closed my eyes, just for a moment before opening them again. But this time Scott was gone, in his place was a huge black and brown wolf. It was almost as tall as Scott was originally; it was probably my height if not taller on all fours. I stared at it, at him, not daring to move.
The shock of it all was too much and I made a move to back away, only to fall back and land on my bottom. My actions made the wolf whimper and I shot my head up to look at him. His eyes, the same hazel eyes as Scott. They looked at me with sadness. The wolf, Scott, slowly made his way towards me trying not to frighten me.
“Scott?” I questioned as the wolf stepped right up to me, his nose near my face. I already knew it was him but it just seemed so unbelievable. Scott rubbed the side of his head against mine and I put my hands to his fur. My hand touched the soft black and brown mixed hair. I also noticed the white fur around his mouth.
I let out a breath, leaning my head into his neck. “This…just doesn’t…how…” I sighed.
“You’re not afraid.” I heard Scott breathe out. I pulled back and saw Scott was back. I also noticed his lack of clothes. My cheeks went red and Scott smirked. I turned away and he moved to get his clothes. I pulled his arm back and he looked at me questionably. I looked at his eyes.
“I’ve seen scarier things than a wolf.” I whispered and let go. Scott looked down and wiped his face with his hand.
I stood up, turning around as Scott got dressed.
“Let’s get you back.”He said, walking up from behind and placing his hand on my back, leading me out of the woods.

“Scott!” I heard Melissa scream as we walked up to the house.
“Stay here.” Scott ordered as he ran off into the house. I shook my head, I wasn’t staying out here. I rushed in behind him and saw a hysterical Melissa, crying into Scott’s shoulder.
“Get her out of here, he found her.” She cried.
My eyes widened. How?
Scott turned around and saw me. “I told you to stay outside.”
“You need to go, now.” Melissa warned.
“I’m not going to run. He’s my problem not yours.” I spoke, afraid. “Where is he?” I asked in a quiet voice.
Just as the question fell into the air the familiar scent filled the room. Cigarettes and alcohol. “Did you think I wouldn’t find you?” He sneered, before turning to Scott. “Did you think I didn’t know who you were? I know everybody in this god forsaken town.”
“Why don’t you leave? And forget about me. It’s not like you wanted me.” I muttered.
My father laughed. “You think it’s about that? I control you, bitch! You do what I say!” He screamed. “And you go against me and leave with this boy?! I should kill you!” He reached into the back of his pants, pulling out a pistol. My eyes widened and Scott pushed me behind him.
“Oh don’t protect her. A worthless piece of garbage like her deserves to die.” My father laughed.
Scott shook as his fists clenched. He stormed up to my father and grabbed him by his collar, lifting him up into the air. With a grunt Scott threw my father across the room. I froze, watching the scene take place.
My father dropped the gun as he slid down the wall but once he got control of himself he jumped for it. Scott tried to get there before him but was slow by a second. My father lifted the gun up and I heard the sound of two shots. The sound ringed in my ears along with the screaming of Melissa. A man came bursting through the door and growled at the sight in front of him. I looked at Scott and saw she was bleeding from his shoulder; a bullet squeezed itself out of his shoulder. I wanted to say something but I couldn’t.
I noticed the smirk on my father’s face as he put the gun up to his head. Another shot ringing in my ears.
I felt something clogging my throat and liquid drip down from my mouth. “Ashton!” I heard Scott scream. I looked down to my stomach to see blood seeping from my shirt, a dark hole in the middle.
I looked back up to see Scott running towards me. My legs buckled beneath me as my body fell to the ground. It was cold and my vision became blurry. I saw Scott standing over me along with Melissa and the man I didn’t recognize.
My eyelids became heavy and I ignored Scott shouting at me to stay awake. Everything around me faded and my body became numb before I saw nothing.
So...What do you think? Let me know!
Hope you enjoyed the chapter and thanks for reading.
