"why do you always hide your problems from me?" i asked the guy walking alongside me.
we were walking back home after hours of me venting out all my frustrations. it was already 11pm. the streets were quiet, there were barely anyone.
youngmin shrugged.
i stopped walking and faced him.
"listen, i don't know about you but i feel so frustrated that you're not telling me anything. i can't even read your feelings and yet you're not telling me anything. we're friends right? do you not trust me? i am just worried that i can't be the one to support you"
youngmin looked flustered but just smiled at me, "it's okay, i'm not donghyun"
"what is that supposed to mean?" i raised my voice, clearly annoyed at his reply. "what do you mean by that? what do you mean by it's okay? quit saying that, please. it's not okay. i need to know, i want to help you. i'll find thousand and one ways to help you. please. don't you trust me?"
"there's only one way for you to help me though"
"which is?"
"i'll tell you tomorrow" he chuckled and started walking. i groaned.
i started chasing after him and his laughter was the only thing that can be heard in the quiet neighbourhood.
when we reached our apartment, he sent me to my door as usual before going to his's.
"i'll see you tomorrow, monkey faced" he pinched my cheeks and he got a punch on the chest in return. he laughed as he messed up my hair before going to his house next to mine.
as i stepped into my house, my mom was sitting at the dining table, eating a precooked meal. she smiled at me and asked me to sit next to her. she prepared another precooked meal for me and we ate in silence. precooked meals may seem plain and boring to others, but these meals are what we usually live with. my mom has always been busy with her work that she had no time to cook for both of us. and no one can ever ask me to cook anything unless they have a death wish.
it was nice i guess, sitting down with my mom despite everything that happened earlier in the day. she rarely hit me. i know these few months have been tough for her since her work has been piling up. i dont blame her for anything. she's doing what she is supposed to anyway.
"youngmin.." my mom broke the silence.
i looked up, only to see her staring at me. she shooked her head and continued eating. i did not pay much attention and quickly finished my food just so i can sleep. my back still stings but it hurts lesser now.
