I got up to my room and throw on a new pair of Nike pros. A new sports bra and a new tank top. I lace up my running shoes and make my way out of of my room. I enter the kitchen to see Ethan and Jason talking. But their conversation comes to a halt when they spot me.
"How are you feeling." Ethan asks.
"I'm fine. I'm going to train, k bye." I quickly say before I leave the house to go to the training field.
"Hey. Carson, um. How's it going." Caleb asked from behind a tree.
"Fine. But please tell me you're not here to fight me." I tell him.
"I'm really sorry about that." He said smiling sheepishly. "I was just having a rough time and I took it out on you. I hope you can forgive me." He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"I'm not mad at you Caleb. Now come on. Let's go." I said nodding my head in the direction of the training field. I could start to hear the shouts and grunts of people.
Once we make it through the tree line all eyes land on me. And everyone becomes still. They part in lines. Ethan's pack on one side. And Jason's pack on the other. I walk to a stop.
"Beta Austin, will you join me and beta Caleb up here please." I yell. Some shuffling happens and then Austin is seen through some people.
"Today you are not my issue." I yell. I can see some people visibly relax. "However!" I shout even louder causing them to stiffen once again in fear.
"You will be put through a series of work outs, your beta will be in charge of these. If you start to fall behind. You will then come and see me." I pause. "So try to fight like your lives depend on it.. cause they kinda do." I mutter Darkly.
Caleb and Austin go to their corresponding packs. And start working with them.
•thirty minutes later•
Nobody from Caleb's pack is falling. They wouldn't dare too. I see people from Austin's pack struggling to keep up with the pace. I know everyone can feel my eyes upon them. I know that they all just don't want to be my first victim.
"Go harder betas! Cause for some reason I don't have any victims yet!" I shout. I then hear them shout demands. Everybody is still going strong. Until I hear someone sneeze. A girl around 18 had sneezed and her body fell to the ground. "Beta Austin, hand her over." I mock in a sing song voice.
"It was a sneeze Carson lighten up." He growls at me.
"Yeah well if this were the actual war the rouges would not have hesitated to kill her." I pause. "They find one weakness and they go for it! No matter what it is!" I yell out. "Now get over here." I say finally pointing at the girl. She hesitantly gets up and slowly starts to make her way over to me.
"We can't wait until Christmas, now hurry your ass up!" I growl causing her to move faster. Once she is in front on me I circle her judging what she can do.
"Eh, keep doing push ups until I say stop." I command her. "But," I pause causing and evil glint to form in my eye. "Put this back pack filled with bricks on." I say as I walk behind a tree to get it. She struggles to put on the back pack but finally does. Then she drops to the floor and starts doing push ups. I stop paying attention to her and focus on the people all around us. They are still managing to not drop.
"Paige, what is in the back pack?" I hear Ethan question the girl doing push ups.
"Bricks." I calmly state not turning around and keeping my gaze on the people in front of me.
