The following morning: Sunday
The following day, Beatrice went with Tom early in the morning to go and open up the storybook shop. It was always crowded with people. But there was hardly anyone at the mall around this time. Tom's workers weren't yet there as well.
"Bea, wait by the counter and help the customers that come." Tom said and Bea nodded.
It was about seven in the morning and the shop was normally opened from eight till three on Sunday.
Tom went into the back door to take care of some things and Bea was left alone. There were a few people in the mall where the shop was. She noticed that some shops were open at this time. She was getting bored of just standing there with no one coming so she took out her phone and started texting.
She slightly laughed when she saw Carly's text about having to take care of her five year old brother. She knew how much Carly hated doing that.
"Hey." Someone vioce broke her thoughts. She looked up and saw a boy who was about the same age as her. She hadn't even noticed him come in.
He had brown eyes and brown hair and the way he was staring at her with his slight smile, he looked even more handsome than a second ago.
She was just staring at the most handsome boy she thought she ever saw in her life or in real life. He looked like a cute guy out of a movie. She started to feel her heart beating so rapidly with shyness. Suddenly, she had no voice to answer him.
She was taking so long to reply that she saw his mouth open to say something. An opening of the door interrupted and he closed his mouth.
A woman about in her early forties walked in. The woman was wearing a beautiful dress for the perfect Sunday. She had brown hair and bright blue eyes. She smiled in their direction immediately showing her benign attitude.
"Good morning." She sauntered towards them but directly looking at Bea showing that she was specifically talking to her.
"It's good to know you're open in here." She continued smiling sweetly at Bea.
The back door opened and Tom stepped out immediately comming face to face with the customers. He looked nervous when he stared directly at Lyla. His face became more charming and Bea saw his hands shaking.
What was going on? She wondered as she squinted. Her dad couldn't seriously be having the same emotions as she was right then. Was he crushing on this woman? He held out his hand to greet the woman and waved swiftly to the boy in front of her. He then offered to show the woman where books she liked were in particular and asked Bea to help the boy still in front of her.
She was about to say something but he was already on the other side of the store with the woman busy talking to her already and then holding two books in his hands.
This cannot be happening. She wanted to help this cute guy in front of her but only if she had the courage to say one word to him which she realized she hadn't yet. She stared at him shaking and still unable to speak.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, the boy said.
"Do you know where I can find books that have to do with science and dance?"Y...yes." She stuttered. She couldn't speak properly! "Calm down." She chanted in her head.
Her face felt like it was on fire and Bea wondered if her face had turned red. She tried exhaling to calm herself down but that didn't seem to work at all.
"Follow me." She slightly smiled to the boy hoping to not seem like she felt inside because inside, she was shaking and panting and unable to speak.
She had been in Tom's book store a couple of times so she did know where most of the books were. She had taken most of the books in there to read because she enjoyed reading story books.
