The day had finally arrived. Not that Bea had been longing for it but nevertheless, she was busy stuffing her things in her suite case when she had someone calling her name. When she went downstairs, she found Carly and Cloe.

“Hey guys. What are you doing here?”

She asked climbing down the stairs to meet them. They were standing on down floor looking at her. Carly wore a black jean with sneakers, a white t-shirt and a blue white and purple blocked hemp.

“You didn’t think we were going to let you go without saying good-bye to you, did you?” asked Carly.

“Are you going to be alright?” asked Cloe.

She wore a blue jean with a pink shirt that showed her flat stomach.

“I hope it’s not going to be as boring as I am imagining.” Said Bea.

Since the summer vacation was two months long, Bea thought about it and realized that she could handle a horrible week out of a two month holiday. She still had quite a lot of time remaining to enjoy her summer.

“Hurry up Bea.” Said Tom shouted impatiently from the car which was really odd of him. He was usually a very patient person. He must have been so excited for Bea to meet his parents.

“Coming dad.”

She said standing by the porch of the house with her suitcase in her hand. She pushed it with its wheels of the porch and on to the ground level and stopped with Carly and Cloe right in front of her. Carly grinned as if to show that everything was going to be fine. Cloe slightly smiled and she didn’t look so pumped out about Bea not being there with them for the summer.

“We are going to miss you. Promise you will chat with us every day?” said Carly

“I promise. Bye guys.” Bea said before they all did a group hug.

She rushed to the car still pulling her bag, got it inside the boot, closed the boot and got inside the car.

“Cheer up Bea. I promise it’ll be fun.” Said Tom from the driver sit.

He looked positive about this like she was about to have the most fun she had ever had in her life, which was totally false.

“I doubt it.” Bea sighed, feeling boredom already surrounding her.

Johannesburg didn’t seem like the type of place that grandparents would live in. Bea expected them to live in a boring town, where only few people lived.

“What are your parents like?” she asked.

“They are very loving and caring. Believe me.You are going to love them. They’ll be like the grandparents you never had.” He replied

They were going to Johannesburg by plane. They were just in time to catch the plane when they got to the airport. Before they knew it, they were already on their way. Bea was busy thinking about a lot of things that she was going to miss in Durban. Johannesburg sounded like a very different place compared to Durban. The more she thought about it, the more she kept on glaring at the necklace again, thinking only if she could control it to stop this trip from happening, and that’s when she decided to take one last try on controlling the necklace.

The loud and annoying sound that always happens when she tries so hard to wish occurred and everyone close to her in the plane looked at her wondering if she was crazy. She cupped her face as her cheeks burned with embarrassment and slouched in her seat feeling like becoming invisible.

After about 45 minutes, they arrived. It took a small amount of time than Beatrice expected. They took a cab to get to the house. Johannesburg was a very beautiful city. But indeed there was a disparity between Durban and Johannesburg. They arrived at the house a couple of minutes later.
