Running into trouble

Barry's P.O.V

     I had just finished visiting a crime scene about a man who had been attacked by some feline meta? I don't really know what it was but I had just finished collecting all of the samples and data so I decided to head back the the CCPD and get it checked out. Instead of going the long way around I walked back through the city and passed CCN. Well I almost went passed it, on my way I ran right into Iris.

     "Iris! I am so sorry I didn't see you there!" I looked down at her. She was on the ground trying to process what just happened. "It's fine Barry!" She insisted. I put my case down and said, "Here let me help you up." Before she could answer I grabbed her arm and helped her back on her feet. "Thank's Bear. And before you say anything, I am fine and completely well. I should have been watching where I was walking." She said to me. I really want to ask at least four more times if she is okay because that's just who I am but I know I can't. Barry she said she was fine so just let it go and help her with her stuff. I thought. "Good, I'm glad you're okay." I said with a warm smile. "Here let me get your stuff." Before she could say no I flashed around and picked up all of her papers and her plant. She smiled and took them. "Thank you Barry. I was wondering if you would want to come over, maybe Saturday; tomorrow?" I opened my mouth to say yes but then I realized I had my last singing practice that day. "What time?" I said the last part slowly. "Um how about 3:00?" I let out an internal sigh. Good that means I can make it to my singing lesson and then go straight to Iris' house after. "Yeah that would be perfect!" I said with a big smile. "Great!" She said. "I'll see you then!" I said as I walked off

     I was about twenty paces away when I realized I was still holding Iris' plant. I whipped around and said, "Iris you forgot your... plant?" I was to late, she was already gone and out off sight. I'll just give it to her tomorrow. I thought. I suddenly felt a buzzing feeling coming from my side pocket. That's the panic button. I whipped out my phone and saw that Cisco had pressed it, he was at Star Labs.

     " What's wrong?!" I said as I slid into the Star labs cortex. I was expecting to see a meta human, someone injured, Iris, a monster, a breach! Instead I saw Cisco. I saw Cisco sitting at his desk, tossing a yo yo in the air and catching it. He looked up and me and a grin spread across his face. "Hey Barry!  You got here quick!" I was both confused and angry. "Cisco? You pushed your panic button I thought someone was trying to kill you or something. Why?" He shrugged his shoulders. "I was bored. I had nothing to do. I've just been sitting here watching these monitors all day and I ran out of  yogurt an hour ago." I walked over to the front of the desk, set the flower down, and leaned against the edge of it. "Look Cisco I'm sorry you ran out of Caitlin's yogurt to eat but you can push that if you are bored or just feel like it. You should know, those are only for emergencies." He nodded his head. "Yes mother." I let out a sigh and sat down in one of the chairs. 

     "Nice flower." He commented. "Thank's but it's not mine it's Iris'." He nodded his head. "Ahh I see you went from boyfriend to plant sitter." I laughed at his comment. "Well I have to get back to the CCPD, see ya Cisco." I was halfway out the door when Cisco pipped up. "Hey Bear?" I turned around to face him. "I'm no botanist but I am pretty sure it's not supposed to do that." I scrunched my eyebrows. Cisco was looking at the plant but I didn't see anything wrong with it. "Do what?" Right as I finished that sentence the plant grew five times it's original size! "That!" Cisco yelled. 

     The plant was big. It was no longer a blossom, it's neon pink flower petals were fully extended. "Alright well don't panic. It's just an overgrown flower. We'll just take it out to the back and throw it in the dumpster or something." Cisco looked at me like I was stupid. "We can't throw it in the dumpster!" I shot him an innocent look. "Why can't we throw it in the dumpster?" He was frustrated with my question. "Because all the evil, scary, creepy, monster thingies come from a dumpster in an alley way!" I rolled my eyes. "Oh my gosh Cisco you are being ridiculous! There is nothing wrong with the flower see watch!" as I finished speaking I reached out and touched the flower. "See nothing happened." Suddenly the flower came to life and threw me across the room with one of it's now frying pan sized leaves. I flew straight through the glass wall and landed on the medical bed. Pain coursed through my shoulder but quickly dissipated because of my super healing. Ouch. "Barry!" Cisco yelled as he ran across the room to me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me up. "What did I just say about creepy monster thingies from ally ways?" I smiled a little and then looked up at the monster.
