Lava Monster?

Barry's P.O.V

I felt like the luckiest guy in the world as I sped over to the museum. Iris was always so supportive of me being the Flash! In that moment I felt like I could literally walk on air. Then I found the monster...

     "Uh Cisco! What is that?!" I asked as I skidded to a stop. I saw in front of me a big blob-like mass of steaming hot red-orange lava. It's body was composed of pure flowing lava that was constantly moving. "I don't know but heat signatures are off the charts. The temperature is over 1100 degrees Celsius and that is just on the outskirts. At the core it is 2,889 K." Cisco replied in a shocked voice. "Barry that is half as hot as the sun!" I heard Caitlin say. "What on earth has the ability to be so hot?" Clueless HR asked, probably spinning his drumsticks as we speak. "I don't know guys but what I am looking at right now looks like a lava monster." I said as I held my hand up to my ear.

     Just as luck would have it the lava monster turned around and looked straight at me. He ,or she, threw a glob of lava about as big as a car soaring towards me. "Aw man." I said as I saw the ball of lava nearing closer and closer to me. I used my super speed to run far away from the ball of flaming lava trying to kill me. I was so focused on running away from the lava ball that I didn't see the fire hydrant on the sidewalk. "Gah! Ouch!" I yelled out. My foot had run straight into the hydrant causing me to fly over it and have my shoulder come into contact with the pavement. My shoulder was throbbing, it felt like I was getting stabbed by thousands of needles and my skin had no where to get away. It hurt so bad a could almost taste it. 

     "Okay guys," I said in a croaky voice trying to muster the strength to stand. "We need a game plan." I used all of my strength to stand up only to see the lava monster reeking havoc on the museum. "Right game plan got it!... Okay do you guys have any ideas cause I got nothing."-- "Cisco I can still hear you even if you are trying to cover up the speaker." I could see Cisco drooping his head. "You know what is funny, this reminds me of the time I traveled to the Hawaiian islands," I heard HR say on the other side. "HR we don't have time for your stories right now, we are fighting a lava monster!" Cisco snapped at HR. "Ahh but that is the thing Franchesco do you know how most of the Hawaiian islands were formed?" HR asked. "Well yeah, they were formed when lava fell into the ocean and turned to rock what's your point?" Cisco asked, clearly not amused. "Exactly they were formed when the lava mixed with water and became solid rock. So..." He paused but Cisco said nothing. "If we can cover the monster in water it may just turn it into solid rock." Caitlin piped up. "That's actually not a bad idea!" I said through the earpiece. "Thank you BA." HR said.

     "Yeah but the only problem with your plan is that we would need a truckload of water to do that and I don't know about you guys but I don't see thousands of pounds of water sitting around waiting for someone to use it." Cisco said. "Way to suck the fun out of it." HR huffed under his breath. "Look guys we don't have time for this and right now and that is our only option. This monster is getting really mad!" I said, frantically trying to think of where we could get that much water. I hung my head in defeat. It is not always so fun to have this much weight on your shoulders all the time. Then I saw it.

     "The fire hydrants! If we can get them open we could use the water inside of them to stop the monster." I said, in my most heroic voice possible. "Great idea! Now we just need to figure out a way to get the water onto the monster." Caitlin said in a cheerful voice. "I got an idea for that. Barry once all the hydrants are open run super fast around all of them. If you run fast enough you should be able to create a tornado effect and the water will fly all over the monster. And lucky for us, there are 6 hydrants all around the monster." Cisco finished. "Alright, I'm on it."

     I ran to all of the fire hydrants and pulled them open. The more fire hydrants I opened the harder it got for me to do so. By the time I was on the last fire hydrant it felt like I was trying to rip apart solid steal. When I finally pried it open I was out of breath. So I sat there for a few minutes (which in real time was a few seconds) breathing hard.

     Once I had caught by breath I started running around the fire hydrants. I could feel the wind pounding against my face. It was strong and determined, but so was I. I ran so fast that I was starting to feel sick in my chest. It was working though! I was so focused on running that I hadn't looked at the huge tornado of water I had created. "Woah! Yes! You go Barry, just a little bit longer!" Cisco cheered in my ear.

     I could hear the roars of the monster, it was definitely working I only had to run for a few more minutes before I heard the loudest boom I had ever heard in my life. I assumed that mean't I could stop running so I slid to a stop. 

     At first my vision was blinded by the mist that was in the air from the slowly disintegrating water tornado. When the mist lifted I saw a completely, solid rock, lava monster. It was about nine feet tall and 8 feet wide, with long arms that had what used to be dripping lava on them. I was relived that we had defeated it but then I felt my heart sink a little. Did I just kill someone? I thought to myself. I was overcome with sadness and fell to me knees. I have never killed anyone until today. I heard the same weird bubbling noise from earlier today and then had Cisco yell in my earpiece. "Barry you need t-" But it was to late. Cisco was trying to warn me of what was coming but he wasn't fast enough. 

     The solid rock statue had exploded and sent me flying into the apartment buildings behind me. Mind you they were about thirty feet away. I wanted to yell because the pain hurt so much but it hurt just to think about speaking. I turned my head to where the lava monster used to be but saw nothing. There was no dust or ashes or remains of any kind. It was like it was never even there.

     "Cisco did I just kill someone?" I asked worriedly as I limped back into Star Labs. Caitlin Quickly helped my to a chair and started running some tests on my to see if I was badly injured. "No you did not Barry don't worry. whatever that thing was it was definitely not a meta-human or any kind of human for that matter." Cisco replied trying to help me feel better. Everyone knew that no matter how evil or bad a villein was I could never bring myself to kill anyone or anything. "You are sure?"I asked him a second time. "I am sure. There was not enough energy in the particle accelerator to give someone or something that amount of energy. So this thing is something new." I nodded my head. "You are totally fine you just need some rest. With your super healing abilities you should be back up to 100% in a few hours." Caitlin said. "K, thanks. So a weird thing that happened today was when I was shot at by those thugs, I heard a bubbling sound after they had missed me and I heard the same bubbling sound just before the lava monster exploded. Do you think there could be any connection?" Cisco pondered what I had said for a minute, which felt like ten. "I guess it's possible. Not even Elmo himself knew what they did." Then HR piped up, "Elmo? Ha, that's funny! I thought his name was Enzo?"That was the moment we all mentally face palmed ourselves. We love HR but sometime he has a hard time understanding... things.

    "Anyway, I think I can talk to Joe,  pull a few strings and get us a visit with El- 'Enzo' himself." Cisco pipped up. "Alright, sounds like a plan, I'm going to go get some rest, let me know if anymore meta-humans attack." I told Caitlin, Cisco, and HR. "We will." They all said at once, and I zipped back to my apartment.
