Gemma jumps out of her seat dramatically.

"But how though?" She says putting her index and pointer finger on her chin starting to think. Margaret leans back in her wheel chair thinking as well.

"You don't think it has anything to do with the fire do you?" Margaret asks quietly not trying to bring any unwanted attention towards them as other hospital patients started to enter the cafeteria. Gemma calmly sits back down.

"Possibly... Once when you were sleeping I got bored and did some exploring around the orphanage. Everyone else was either busy with chores or chatting with others so it was the perfect time to sneak around." Gemma shrugs her shoulders and continues.

"I saw our nanny Ms. Flume carrying some bottles with glowing green liquids inside, I didn't question her cause I didn't want to get smacked for 'Stepping out of line' or 'Snooping'."

      Margaret looks at Gemma.

"You don't think that those chemicals and the fire mixing both the fumes together caused this?" She asks. Gemma nods then points at Margaret giving her a very serious look.

"You can't tell anyone about your so called 'Gift' Got it?" Gemma says with a stern voice. Margaret nods slowly. The two girls sat in silence for about five minutes before a familiar boy walked into the cafeteria. The boy walks over to the girls table and looks at Gemma the glances at Margaret.

"Do you mind if I sit with you two?" He asks looking at Gemma again for approval.

"No, have a seat Lucas." Gemma smiles. Margaret's eyes widen and she looks at Gemma.

"So this is Lucas?" She asks wiggling her eyebrows. Lucas uses his good arm and scratches his neck awkwardly.

      "Yeah, I'm Lucas." He smiles.

"I'm Margaret." Margaret says smiling brightly. Lucas blushed but Margaret being the innocent person she is asked.

"Your face is red Lucas... Are you okay?" Margaret starts to reach over the table to check his forehead but Lucas gently pushes her hand away.

"I-I'm fine." Lucas manages to say. Gemma is sitting back watching all of this trying not to laugh. Margaret looks over at Gemma and gave her the look. Gemma instantly sits up and stops laughing.

"So Lucas what'd you want?" Gemma asks him.

"Can't I just hang out with two lovely looking girls I met in the hospital?" Lucas asks.

"Putting it that way it sounds creepy." Margaret states. Lucas sulks but shrugs it off.

"I just get bored in a room to myself, I'm only still in here because my parents think staying in a hospital is safer than staying at home." Lucas frowns.

"How much longer are you going to be here for?" Gemma asks him. Lucas starts to think.

"Three weeks at most, you?" He asks. Margaret frowns.

"Six to eight weeks." Margaret mumbles. Gemma places a hand on her shoulder. Lucas takes a close look at Margaret and he notices how beaten up she is.

"That fire took it's tole on you pretty bad." Lucas frowns. Margaret shoots a look towards Gemma as if to ask 'You told him!?' Gemma says 'Yes' in her head knowing Margaret could hear her.

"Yeah, I um Broke my leg and cut open my head... But I'm fine." Margaret sighs.

"That explains the bandages, cast, and wheel chair." Lucas chuckles trying to lighten up the conversation. Margaret has a small smile on her face and Gemma is just happy that Margaret is better now.

Margaret kept peeping into Lucas' mind and finding out tiny thing about him while him and Gemma had a conversation about different foods they liked. Lucas liked Hamburgers and Gemma liked Pizza. Of course Margaret already knew that about Gemma because of them being best friends for so long. Margaret learned that Lucas played football and baseball, he likes to hang out with his friends, play video games, he even plays the guitar here and there. Those are the only things she could get out of his head before she was asks what her favorite food was.

"Oh, my favorite food is Bacon." Margaret simply added. The orphanage always had one day during the month where there would be bacon served wit breakfast, and Margaret loved it. Gemma and Lucas continued to talk while Margaret zoned out and thought about being in the orphanage, even though Margaret only had Gemma in the orphanage it was enough to make her feel at home, even just have a place to call home was nice. Margaret would be lost without Gemma. Gemma was her rock. Margaret was pulled out of her thoughts again by Gemma.

"C'mon we're going back to our room. Grab a snack if you need one." She says. Margaret nods and grabs a snack off the closest counter that she can reach. Eventually realizing that Lucas already left. She knows Lucas see's Gemma as a little more then a friend but will keep that to herself. Gemma grabs the handles on Margaret's wheel chair and starts wheeling her out of the cafeteria and down the hall towards their room. When they reach the room Gemma helps Margaret onto her bed and helps to get her comfortable. Once Gemma was done helping Margaret she went and sat down on her own bed getting comfortable herself.

Gemma groans when realizing that the TV remote was on the table across the room. She doesn't want to get out of bed to grab it so she just tries reaching for it from the bed. When she isn't close enough to it she moves a little closer to the edge of the bed and attempts at reaching for it again.

"You know Gem you might have to get up and-" Before Margaret could finish her sentence the remote landed in Gemma's hand. The two sat there in shock. Gemma dropped the remote and put both of her hands in the air.

"It wasn't me!" She says defensively. Margaret giggles a little.

"Gem, I think it was." Margaret says calmly.

"Try to move something else with your hands." Margaret quickly adds. Gemma nods and focuses all her attention on the water bottle that was on the table by Margaret's bed. Gemma reached a hand out and thought about bringing it towards her. Sure enough the water made its way towards Gemma.

"Holy crap." Gemma places a hand over her mouth surprised. Gemma looks at the remote that's on the ground and uses her pointer finger moving it up off the ground and into Gemma's hand.

"What the hell kinda chemicals did Ms. Flume have in that orphanage?" Gemma asks looking at her hands then at Margaret. Margaret shrugs smiling, Gemma smiles back then goes to turn on the TV. The TV was small but it was nice, the girls never had a TV before. Eventually they fell asleep watching some sort of Rom-Com.

A/N I just realized that Margaret and Gemma sleep a lot... oh well, using your 'gifts' can take up a lot of energy. But hey! The good news is they both finally discovered they have 'Gifts' nobody else has. Oh! and comment below if I should have Lucas and Gemma get together for a little bit to cause some drama... Idk.

Thanks for reading fellow Wattpadians!!
