Lo and Behold! I deliver to you, Chapter 12!!!
This is shorter than most of the others. I'm probably going to have the following chapters as short as this one too.

I knocked on the door of Sara's apartment. She didn't open it so I knock again. I heard footsteps on the other side of the door and I step back. The door opened to reveal Sara wearing a ripped jeans and an old band t-shirt with her hair wet.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you knocking. I was washing my hair." He said towel drying it.
"Yea I can see that." I followed her in and made myself comfortable on the sofa.
She let her hair down and fetched us some sodas before joining me on the sofa. I put my arm around her neck and gave her a fond smile.
"I thought you were only coming over tonight. What made you decide to rush over here so suddenly? Couldn't handle all Sam and Kai's making out?" She joked.
"Don't even get me started on their making out. I have a girlfriend and yet I feel like a lonely third wheel with no hopes of getting anything." I said rolling my eyes. "Last night they walked in fighting about some waiter that Sam knew. Apparently Kai wasn’t too happy about that.”
Sara shifted next to me. “What restaurant did they go to?”
“An Italian place downtown. I can’t remember the name.” I furrowed my brow. “Why do you ask?”
“Roger works at an Italian place downtown. I think it was called Angelo’s.” she said quickly.
“But he’s at your aunt’s for the week, isn’t he?” I sat up straighter.
“He was supposed to be, but she called and said that she had to fly to Spain for an important business meeting.” She bit her lip. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think that they’d run into each other.”
“You didn’t- what if they came over here to meet you and they saw him? We live in the same city; there was a very high chance of them ‘running into each other’. How could you not have told me, Sara?”
“I didn’t think it mattered. Roger was banned from ever going over to your place anyway. And why would Sam want her boyfriend to meet the guy who tried to make a move on her?” she rolled her eyes.
“They were on the verge of breaking up. And this wasn’t the first time. They don’t need a third part stepping in.” I stood up and walked towards the window. “What am I supposed to do now?”
“Why do you have to do anything?” She began brushing her hair. “Let her do her own thing. Leave her be.”
“I can’t.” I turned around to face her. “She’s my little sister. If she gets hurt, I can’t just stand there and watch. I have to help her. I told my mom I’d look out for her.”
“I get that, but she won’t be a little girl forever, Charlie. Let her grow up. You’re not her father.”
“Don’t even compare me to that bastard.”
“I wasn’t.” she stood up and walked over to where I was standing and laid a hand on my shoulder. “I’m just saying that you can’t always be there for her. What is she going to do when you’re not there?”
“I’m supposed to be.” I said barely above a whisper.
“Listen; let fate take its course. You can’t stop something that’s bound to happen.”
