Part 14

The hall was big but didn't had any extravagant decorations. The group followed Temari as she lead them to where Gaara was.

The Kazekage was wearig his usual dark red clothes that matched very well with his hair and kanji. He was in his throne, waiting for her sister and the others.

"Gaara" Temari said "Here they are"

"Hn." he replied. "It's good to see you back safe, Dragon's Eye"

"That tone tells me that you already knew about my situation with the Uchihas" Tenten said.

"I sent Kankuro to buy you some time until you came here" then he turned to see Hinata. "I believe you are all tired and hungry. You can stay here and rest. I've arranged rooms for all of you"

"Thank you Kazekage-sama" They all replied while bowing.

"Gaara-sama" Sakura said while taking out the pearl of her neck. " I believe you should know that we have it.."

"For everyone's security we should decide what to do with it" Ino added. "It's power is already affecting everyone"

"Then we should lock it inside a box or something until we decide what to do with it" Temari said. "Gaara?"

Gaara close his eyes while hearing all the conversation. Then he opened them and looked straight to Hinata. "It is yours right?"

Hinata stared at him. She looked closely at thos aquamarine eyes of him that penetrated her soul. "Y-yes"

"What we should do with the pearl?" he asked. His tone showed concern.

"T-Temari-san's idea seems good to me" she replied. "But we should act quickcly before something bad happens.."

Gaara looked at her for a while. Then he turned around and motioned Sakura to give Temari the pearl. In a matter of seconds, the necklace was locked up inside a small box.

Hours later, everyone was in their room preparing themselves to sleep. Neji was walking through the hallway, gling to his room thinking of the conversation Ino and Tenten had.

'What exactly Ino saw in Tenten's mind?'

"Nonsense, it is not of my business.." he said to himself while shaking his head. Suddenly he stopped unconsciously in fron of Tenten's room. "Why the hell am I here?"

He sighed, tired of the entire journey he did with Hinata and the others. His chakra was drained, so he couldn't sense if Tenten was inside the room or not. But why exactly was he wonderig if she was there? He didn't know. He only wanted to know. But what?

He sighed, "Well, I'm here..." then he nocked the door. He stood there for a while, waiting for any kind of response but there wasn't any.

Neji activated his Byakugan to see if she was here. But he didn't find her.

"Tenten?" he said while opening the door slowly. He stared at her room. It was a simple one.

"She must be somewhere else.." he said while turning around, not knowing that she was just walking out of the shower.

"Aaaahhh!!!" she screamed while covering herself and taking out a knife, ready to attack him. "Who are you and why are you here?!?!?"

"Wait, It's meee!" Neji yelled at her.

"Neji?!?!?" Tenten said while lowering her knife. "What are you doing here?!?!"

"I needed to talk to you" he said. "About what you talked to Ino."

Tenten's expression turned to a very serious one. "There's nothing to talk about"

Neji sighed. He stared at her for a while, watching all the marks she had on her arms. "What are those marks for? Is ut from previous fights?"

"Why do you wanna know about them? I thought you wanted to talk about what happened to me when I had the pearl.."

"So what you were talking about with Ino was about your memories?"

"I didn't say that!"

"You said you remembered something" Neji added while Tenten crossed her arms. "Look everyone saw what happened to you..."

"And you're worried because Hinata owns the pearl and something bad will happen to her" she said while Neji stared at her.

She sighed, "Look I saw how my entire family and clan was slaughtered when I was 3 years old.."

Neji frowned, "By who?"

"Do you really want to know?" she asked while Neji nodded. "Fine, it was the Hyuga clan. Our clan owned them money and we couldn't pay them. The Hyuga gave us one last chance to pay them. We out of desperation started robbing other familie's money."

She tried to hide her tears, "We were suffering, we didn't had food or medicines to cure ourselves. We prayed the Hyugas for help, to give us a chance.. But they only cared about the money.."

Neji looked at her with guilt. He didn't kow what to say.

Tenten whiped her tears away, "But they find out about what we were doing. And they sent their men to kill us"

She pointed at her marks. "These marks are all I have from that night. Many girls and women were raped in front of their husbands and fathers. Then they killed them all. My mother hid me in a locker before she was captured. Soon they started a fire and I had to get out. I ran away to the forest. Some men followed me and once they catched me up I had to fight them.."

She stared at the Hyuga blankly, "I cut off their heads with my bare hands... After that I became a thief and learned hidden jutsus and with time I earned my nickname.."

Neji stared at her in shock, "I-I didn't know...I'm sorry that you were involved in this.."

"That's what I remembered" she said. "After all that I hated the Hyugas with all my heart. Now..."

Neji blinked. "Now what?" Tenten looked at him strangely as if she wanted to say more things but didn't dound the words.

"I-I have to think about it" she said while turning away from him. "You may leave"

Neji stood there for a second wondering if he really wanted to leave after all he knew now. "O-kay..."

He stood up and went to the door. Then he turned around to see her one last time. She did the same thing.

"Goodnight....Tenten-chan" he said

"Goodnight....Neji-kun" she replied.
