Part 30

Naruto watched as how the couple ran away from the castle while fighting. Sasuke punched him hard in his stomach.

"Get him in jail!" said an angry Sasuke while some men picked him up. "I'll deal with you later"

The guards left the room while Sasuke's parents entered.

"You bastard, why did you let them go?!?!" asked Mikoto while slapping him.

"Mikoto!!" yelled Fugaku. "Control yourself."

"Hn. He may be King now but that won't stop me from scolding my son, Fugaku" she snapped coldly.

"Prepare our men, father" Sasuke said. "We're attacking the lands"

Fugaku blinked. "Now?"

"The lands will assemble soon. They attack us in order to protect the pearl and mantain their peace" he clenched his fist. "The next time I'll meet them, will be in battle"

Sasuke's parents nodded while leaving the room. Sasuke looked at hos kingdoom from the window.

"This is the path I've chosen. Sorry Naruto, but my clan's curse cannot be undone."

"Are we safe now?" panted Sakura while sopping at the middle of the forest.

"I think so, we've lost the guards a while ago" replied Shikamaru. "We should stay here for the night"

"I hope Gaara and Hinata are okay" Temari said in a worried tone.

"Hang on Tenten" Neji said while laying her on the ground. Sakura quickly went to heal her.

After a while Sakura managed to heal her wound. She sighed in relief. "It's done, both of them will be fine."

"Both?" asked Neji confused. "Why you said both?"

"Eeh?!?! I ahhh.." she said nervously. "I mean her!"

"What?" Neji asked even more confused.

"I think we all need rest" Temari said changing the topic. "We must leave tomorrow early if we wanna go back to Suna alive"

"I'll stay awake in case Gaara or Hinata appears" said Neji. "I'll let you know if something happens"

Everyone except Neji went to sleep. Neji stood still waitig for Gaara and Hinata to return alive.

"They're taking too long.." he sighed worried. The engagement between both of them hit him like a train. He didn't knew how to react. He was angry that it was the Kazekage and not him but at the same time he was happy that Hinata found someone who truly loved her.

Neji knew that Gaara was in love with her since the first day they met at the Hyuga palace. He remembered staring at Hinata like if he saw an angel. Neji hated those days when the Sand Village visited the Hyuga lands because he was sure that Gaara will do anything to get close to her.

But now it was different. He knew Hinata was never gonna be hers the moment he saw how she looked at him. Her white eyes, sparkling with love and joy at every gesture the red headed boy did.

On the other side, there was Tenten. He turned around to see her sleeping. She was really something different. He remembered the day he hooked up with her ot of frustration of being rejected. The way he felt her, despite her being drunk, was something out of this planet.

He won't admit it but he knew he started to have feelings for the Dragon eye. At first he thought that it was pity  because of her past, but then he realized that he got to know a different side of her. She may be stubborn, rude, sassy, strong and sometimes cruel...but those things are nothing compared to her kind and funny side of her.

He stared at her while she slept. Then he remembered what Sakura said right after he finished on healing her. "Why did she said both?" he murmured before activating his Byakugan.

He scanned all over her body looking for clues that may answer his question about what Sakura said. And then he spotted it. "A-Another chakra?!" he almost said out loud but he closed his mouth right on time.

He stared at the small chakra point that was located to her belly. He gasped, remembering that night when they were together and how distant they interacted to eachother.

"Tenten..." he said in shock. He didn't know what to do.

"Neji nii-san!!" said a female vpice that caught him by surprise.

"Hinata-sama!" he said happily while Hinata and Gaara appeared from the forest. "Are you okay?"

"Hai" she panted. "We're fine."

"We lost the guards a while ago" Gaara added. "Are you all okay?"

"Hai! We're resting now. We're leaving tomorrow" Neji replied.

"What happened to Tenten? Why is she injured?" asked Hinata worried as she saw her covered in bandages.

"Gaara!" Temari said while waking up. "Are you okay?"

"Hn. We've just arrived" he said. "Hinata, get some rest. I'll keep watch now"

"No way Gaara! You will drain yourself" snapped Sakura as she woke up. "I'll keep watch this time"

Everyone nodded as they went to sleep. Sakura turned to see Tenten but Neji stopped her.

"Does she knows about this?" he asked, caughting Sakura by surprise.

"What are you talking about?" she said.

"Sakura, don't" he said. "I saw it"

The pinkette stared at the Hyuga before sighing. "I told her to tell you but she refused. She officially knew about it yesterday"

"Officially?"

"She's 6 weeks pregnant. She's stable now but she lost too much blood. If she keeps up with her routine she may lose the baby" she said seriously. Neji stared at Tenten sadly.

Sakura turned to him determined. "Neji, I need to ask you something"

"What?"

"Do you want this baby?" she saw how Neji blinked and said nothing for a while. There were a lot of things in his mind now, he wanted to help Tenten in everything she needed to redeem the Hyuga's dark past with the Ama clan. But he didn't expected this baby.

Also, he didn't know if Tenten wanted the baby. He needed to talk to her so he could make sure.

But again, despite his doubts and what he feels for Hinata, he felt the need of getting close to her, getting to know her, feel and be with her.

He looked up to the Haruno who was staring at him deeply, and trying to read his thoughts.

"I do" he said.
