Part 34

Months passed since they received the Uchiha couple at the Sand Village. Hinata and Gaara put the wedding on hold because of the upcoming war and all the reunions they had.

Tenten was 4 months pregnant and her belly was starting to show up. Neji  spent this whole time taking care of her since her condition was delicate and she could have an abortion at any moment.

The Uchiha couple spent some weeks i jail but eventually got free. All the information they had was indeed true so Itachi and Izumi ended up helping at the military training.

It was late in the afternoon and Gaara was still doing some paperwork at his office.

"You should take a break Gaara" said Kankuro who was helping him.

"Hn."

"You will get drained" he insisted.

"Hn."

"Gaara.."

"Not now Kankuro! I need to find a way to understand this scroll-" he yelled annoyed.

"To find a way to reverse the pearls curse that's having an effect on Hinata, I know.." Kankuro repeated while sighing. "Still, if you don't take a break you'll never see the whole thing clearly"

The red head turned to face him without saying nothing. Then he glaced again at the scroll.

Kankuro sighed, "I know you're worried. It's the same thing that happened to our mother before you were born."

"Mother went insane by the time I was born right?" he said. "She developed two personalities.."

"More like, the pearl posessed her entirely" his older bother added. "By the way, when are Temari and Shikamaru supposed to come back?"

"At any moment I guess" Gaara replied. "It's been 2 weeks since they went to the Land of Mist. It's the only one who hasn't replied our letter"

"Those people are really hard to handle" he said.

"May I come in?" Hinata said at the door. Gaara and Kankuro welcomed her.

"How are you doing Hinata?" Kankuro asked happily.

"I'm doing fine" she said while glancing at the scroll quickly. Gaara and Kankuro flinched for a second. "Have the lands accepted our request?"

"Everyone except the Land of Mist" Gaara reolied coldly. "It's been a while since we sent the letter. But Shikamaru and Temari went there to get an immediate answer. They'll be here at any moment"

"Oh...but the meeting's next week. What if they refuse?" she asked.

"Then we'll host the meeting without them" Kankuro. "But I don't think they'll refuse, considering what's happening right now. Anyway, I'm hungry so I'll go out. Would you like something?"

Hinata smiled. "No thank you, I'm good"

"No thanks" Gaara said.

"Fine, see ya'!" he said while leaving. Hinata turned to see his fiancée who was smirking. "What is it Gaara-kun?"

"He just made a lame excuse to go and see Matsuri" he said.

"Well, that's how a man in love should act right?" she asked while gettig behind and hugging him.

"Are you telling me what to do, my Byakugan Princess?" he teased while suddenly pulling her in a way she ended up on his lap, facing him.

"Eeeh?!?! I-I..umm" she said while turning red. Gaara pulled her close to him. Her body touching his, her face inches away from his. "G-Gaara.."

"Is this how a man in love should act?" he said before kissing her deeply. Hinata stood surprised at first but soon gave in and kissed him back.

The Byakugan princess moaned as she was kissed by the man she loved. Gaara's tongue entered her mouth slowly, tasting and feeling her.

"Ga-Gaara.." she broke the kiss, looking for air.

"I've missed you Hinata.." he said.

"You wouldn't have missed me that much if you've stopped reading that damn scroll" she said in a serious tone. Gaara pulled her away slowly.

"What?" he asked surprised.

"You heard me" she said while getting up and grabbing the scroll. "This is what's kepping you away from me. I told you not to read this scroll because there is nothing special about it!"

"Give me the pearl Hinata" he demanded coldly.

"What makes you think I have it?"

"I know you have it Hinata" he insisted. "This is not the real you Hinata. The pearl's taking over you"

She rolled her eyes. "If that's the case" she layed at the desk seductively. "Find it for me"

Gaara stared at the Byakugan Princess. Then he leaned closer and kissed her again while taking the pearl from her pocket. After a while, he broke the kiss and leaned close to her ear.

"I wont let it take you away from me" he said while she gasped. Her look changed as he got up.

"G-Gaara-kun?" she asked confused, as if she didn't know what just happened. "Where...am I?"

"At the office. You let it control you again" he said coldly.

"But, I was outside a while ago and-" then realization hit her. She remembered being outside taking some free air before sensing a weird chakra possesing all over her mind. "Gaara..." she said while tears rolled her face.

She cried. "Oh no, what did I do while I was possesed? Did I do something wrong? What if it controls me again!?! What if-" she said while crying. By that time, Gaara was already hugging her tightly.

"Hey, it's okay. You're not alone" he said. "And you haven't done anything wrong"

"For now" she said. "But what if-"

"I wont let it happen" he snapped. "Trust me Hinata, I wont let the pearl take over you"

Suddenly, Temari ans Shikamaru busted into the room. Gaara and Hinata broke the hug.

"Are we interrupting something?" Temari asked while smirking. "We could come back later"

"How was it?" Gaara said quickly. Shikamaru handed him the report.

"After days of negotiation, we made it. They accepted and the meeting will be at Stormy Island" he said.

"Why at Sotrmy Island?" Hinata asked.

"It has been there ever since we can remember. And it's difficult to enter so it's a safe place for us" Temari added. "It's usually controlled by Pirates but since Tenten has connection with them, it'll be easier for us"

"But we should part soon" Shikamaru said. "There are rumours that the Uchihas are moving foward to Infernal Land."

"Then it's settled" Gaara said. "We'll part in two days."
