their was a throbbing pain in my neck and i opened my eyes. my vision was slightly blurry and i couldn't tell my surroundings. i was in a room with two beds and somebody else was laying down there. i kept blinking hoping it'll fix my vision and once i could see clearly enough i looked over and it was veronica.
laying there unconscious with a bandage on her forehead and her ankle was wrapped in gauze. i looked down and i was dressed in a hospital gown. i walked to the door and jiggled the doorknob. before i could think of anything else, i overheard a conversation.
"boss said we're keeping the brunette one, what are we gonna do with the blonde?"
"were just gonna put her to sleep and leave her on the side of the road."
"what if she gets run over by a car?"
"fine in the woods or something."
"why not in a park or something?"
"perfect idea, everyone's gonna be talking about one of missing girls found in park and it'll put all the focus away from us."
my eyes widened with fear and i looked back at ronnie, she was still laying there unconscious. they were gonna keep her here and do god knows what to her.
"betty."
veronica sat up on the bed lightly touching the bandage on her forehead.
"ronnie, i don't know where we are but they're planning something." i sat down next to her and held her hand.
"wait what do you mean?" i could tell she couldn't comprehend what i was saying, she had a major concussion.
"ronnie focus you have a concussion after that car crash." i kept shifting my face over because she kept looking around.
"i have a what?" she said closing her eyes and massaging her head.
"ronnie they're gonna separate us, they gonna throw me out but keep you here." i said and i finally had caught her attention.
"they're gonna what?!" she screamed.
the sound of a click and the door started to open. i moved towards veronica and we held each other as the door opened slowly.
a man with grey hair slicked back a bit wearing a suit came in.
"ah i thought you ladies were asleep." he said casually scribbling on a clipboard.
"who are you?" i stared him down and he looked up from his clipboard.
"i am dr. hale." his accent pigmented his surname.
"why are we here?" i kept asking him expecting at least an answer.
"none of your concern because you betty cooper will be leaving shortly." he clicked his own repeatedly trying his best not to make eye contact with us.
"i'm not leaving ronnie behind." i held onto her tighter.
"i send my deepest apologies but betty it's time for you to leave." he said putting the clipboard down on his side.
he pulled out a stick from his back pocket and it was sparking with electricity. he went to hit me but he was flung across the room but no one threw him. me and ronnie were hugging the whole time but then i felt ronnie lose her grip. i looked towards her and blood ran down her nose her eyes sputtered like she couldn't stay awake.
"ronnie, what'd you do?" i kneeled down and looked into her eyes.
"betty i don't even know." her eyes teared up and she looked at dr. hale sprawled out on the floor.
"call for backup in room 223, room 223..." dr. hale used his last breath to get me out of here.
"betty i'm scared." ronnie wiped the blood of her nose.
echoing footsteps came from the hallways outside of the room. ronnie stood up and looked out the door.
"they have guns and those shock things, they're gonna take you out." she said moving towards the back of the room and dragging me with her. she put her arm in front of me, she didn't even know me but she was protecting me.
an armed soldier walked into our room, ronnie looked at him and his eyes dripped with blood and his mouth was gushing blood too and he collapsed on the floor. then a whole flock came inside and attacked us. ronnie was able to get a few but it wore her out. one soldier grabbed me but ronnie broke his neck.
"if they get you out don't stop looking for me and don't tell anyone about this." she said into my ear.
a soldier came behind her and electrocuted her.   she collapsed on her bed and another soldier put a rag on my face and a strong chemical smell. i tried to fight back but unconsciousness slowly crept onto me.

"betty!"
"betty baby oh my god!"
"betty!"
i wanted to say something.
i wanted to open my eyes.
i wanted to move but i couldn't.
i could only hear.
i could only feel.
i felt a cold breeze and i heard an ambulance coming in from the distance. i was laying down on rocks because i felt them piercing through my back. i had a mini panic attack in my own mind, i was trapped.
i felt my body be lifted off the ground and onto a stretcher. i knew i was headed to the hospital but all i could worry about was veronica.
i slowly regained consciousness and i could feel my fingers twiddled next to me. i moved my toes and i opened my eyes. a light right above me and i looked to my side, it was jug.
"jug?" my voice sounded raspy.
"betty?" he put his hand on my head and i sighed.
i felt relief that i was out of that place but veronica wasn't. the ambulance stopped and they rolled me out and into the hospital. they moved me into the bed and the paramedics left the room. jug held my hand and put his head down next to me on the bed.
"betty where were you?" he asked as i held onto his hand tighter.
"honestly jug i have no idea but ronnie was with me." his eyes widened with shock as i said that.
"now she's gone."
