"May I come in?" Mihika asked peeping in.

"Yes please" Raman said engrossed in a file.

"Aap ne mujhe bulaya?" She asked to gain his attention.

He lifted his gaze from the files and said "Haan Mihika...baitho"

He pulled a drawer and took out some documents from it. Placing one of it in front of Mihika, he said "Ye Ruhi ki birth certificate hai. Ruhi ki school me admission keliye iski zarurat hogi"

Mihika gave him a confused look. Before she could voice out her confusion, he was ready with another two documents "Ye Ruhi ki Educational Insurance file hai aur ye medical insurance ki. Iski premium amount mere account se debit hogi. So you don't have to worry about anything, just keep these files safe for future use"

Mihika took the files in her hand. He forwarded another file and explained "Ye BIPL (Bhalla Industries Pvt. Ltd.) ke 99% shares hain jo maine Ruhi ke naam kiya hain. Woh jab 18 saal ki hogi toh ye automatically uske naam pe transfer ho jaayenge"

"Socha tha ki Ruhi ki 18th birthday pe mai ye use gift karunga" he spoke dreamily "Huhh...Mai bhi pagal hoon" he chuckled hitting his forehead "Kitni door door tak ka sochke rakha tha. Mai toh ye soch soch karke bechain hota tha ke jab Ruhi ki shadi hogi, toh uski bidayi ka gham me kaise bardashth karunga. Par yahan toh Ruhi ek saal ki bhi nahi hui, aur MUJHE usse vida hona pad raha hai" he looked away and quickly wiped the tears that came uninvited.

"Aap kya bol rahe ho? Aur ye sab aap mujhe kyun de rahe ho? Mujhe kuch samajh me nahi araha" Mihika expressed her confusion at last.

"Tum samajhdaar ho, samajh sakti ho ke mai kya keh raha hoon aur kyun keh raha hoon" he stated.

"I.... I don't know... Mere dimag me is waqt tarah tarah ke khayal aa rahe hain. Ye documents, vida hona... Aap kya karne ka soch rahe hain?" She asked scared.

"Daro mat...Jaan nahi lunga apni. Shayad itni himmat nahi hai mujhme, ya phir mere dil ne abhi tak Ishita ki baahon me fanaa hone ki aas nahi chodi hai. Mai bas yahan se door jaa raha hoon taaki Ishita chain se jee sake" he replied.

"Aap Akka ko galat samajh rahe ho. Jaisa aap soch rahe ho, sach waisa nahi hai" Mihika said. She found herself helpless as she was not allowed to tell the truth to him.

"Rehne do Mihika, kya farq padta hai. Mujhme ab kuch sunne ya jaanne ki himmat bhi nahi rahi" he had given up.

"Ruhi ke bina rehne ki himmat hai aap me?" Mihika asked hoping he would change his decision for Ruhi's sake.

"Ruhi ke bina rehna bahut zyada mushkil hai. Lekin jab Ishita ke bina rehne ka faisla kar liya hai maine, toh Ruhi ke bina rehna toh phir mumkin hi hai. Kyunki sach toh ye hai ke mai chahe Ruhi se kitna bhi pyar karloon, Ishita se badhkar usse pyar nahi kar sakta" he admitted.

"Toh phir ye sab sirf Ruhi keliye hi kyun? Akka keliye toh aap kuch bhi chod kar nahi jaa rahe?" She enquired.

"Uske liye mai meri jaan, meri Ruhi ko chod kar jaa raha hoon" he said with teary eyes.

Mihika was taken aback and she stared at this selfless man dumbstruck.

"Aaj se office ke sare employees GM ko report karenge. Maine sabko mail kardiya hai. Adhe ghante baad conference room me meeting hai, jisme baki details meri secretary de degi" he informed.

"Secretary kyun? Aap kyun nahi?" She wondered.

"Mujhe abhi airport keliye nikalna hai. Meri flight hai adhe ghante me" he replied.

"Par aap jaa kahan rahe ho?" She asked.

"Ye batana mai munasib nahi samajhta" he stated.

"Mat jaao please. Ye sahi nahi hai" she pleaded.

"Mujhe der ho rahi hai. I will have to leave now" he collected his necessities and strode towards the door.

Before Mihika could react, he was out of his cabin and would not stop even if she tried to.

Mihika slumped on the chair holding her head "Ye kya se kya hogaya! Maine karna kya chaha tha aur hua kya? Sach saamne laane ke chakkar maine in donon ke beech itni zyada dooriyaan paida kardi hain ke ab Bhai kuch sunne keliye bhi tayyar nahi hain. Aur sunaoon bhibtoh kaise, Akka ne mujhe waade se baandh jo diya hai. Ab mai kya karun? Kaise theek karun sab kuch?"

"Sirf aadha ghanta hai mere paas. Akka ko agar Bhai ko rokne keliye convince bhi karna chahun, tab tak Bhai yahan se nikal chuke honge. Unhone bataya bhi nahi ke woh kahan jaa rahe hain. Warna mai Akka ko wahin le chalti jahan woh gaye hain. Lekin ab mujhe koi raasta nahi dikhayi de raha" she felt powerless and bent her head on the table.

She felt a tap on her shoulder and she expectantly lifted her head to see if it was Raman. "Are you alright Mihika?" Asked Raman's secretary.

"Hmm" Mihika said forcing a smile.

"Sir chale gaye?" The secretary asked.

"Haan" she sadly replied.

"Oh" the secretary exclaimed and she went towards the shelf to look for some files.

"Tumhe pata hai woh kahan gaye?" Mihika suddenly asked when it flashed to her that she might know his whereabouts.

"Nahi. Is baar unhone khud hi apni ticket book ki. GM ko bhi pata nahi hai ke woh kahan gaye hain" she informed.

"Shit" Mihika sighed.

"Kya hua?" She asked.

"Kuch nahi" Mihika shrugged.

"Adhe ghante me conference room me meeting hai. Without fail attend karna hai" she informed.

"Hmmm" Mihika hummed and disheartened turned around and ended up bumping with the secretary.

"Tumhara dhyan kahan hai?" The secretary was miffed as the stuff in her hand fell off.

"I am sorry" apologised Mihika helping her to pick the stuff from the floor.

"It's ok" she groaned although her tone said she was not ok with it.

Mihika handed the files she picked from the floor when her eyes caught the sight of the Secretary's diary. As if on cue, the secretary reminded Mihika "Meeting me aane se pehle Sir ne jo mail bheja hai use yaad se padh lena"

Instantly, an idea struck her mind. She  raced to her cubicle, grabbed the keys of her scooty and rushed out of the office. "HR se kehdo ke maine 1 ghante ki chutti li hai" she screamed to the security guard as she zoomed out.
