I was walking down 42nd street feeling pretty down and gloomy. For a long while i've been feeling lonely and bored. I'm 25 years old and nothing exciting has happened in life. I just finished up college with a doctorates in computer forensics but everyone has turned me down for a job. I live in a small studio apartment above a bakery on Perry Street. I have very few friends and i'm broke. As i sat down on a park bench in battery park it started to rain. I pull the hood of my jacket over my head. I just sat there and soaked up the water.

Suddenly a man maybe in his late 20's sits next to me. I sort of glance over at him and he was highly attractive. I take out my phone to pretend i’m doing something. So i just text my closest friend.

"I know you're just trying to avoid conversation. It's not gonna work, I'm very talkative." He says.

"Hmm, you're smart I see," I say with a cheeky smile "I'm talkative also when i’m not feeling all that convivial."

"What's wrong?" he asked as If I should tell him my life story. But as I normally would, I did.

"My life is boring, i'm 25 years old and without a single exciting opportunity. I thought growing up would be  fun. When I was 13 I dreamed of traveling around the world and seeing the stars. Now I'm too broke to even go to Brooklyn."

"Want adventure?" He asks. He stands up in front of me and holds out his hand. "Come with me, you'll have an adventure alright." The man said with a quirky smirk.

"You expect me to believe that I should follow a man whom I just I met by merely sitting on a bench, in the rain, in battery park, in new york?!?! There is a lot of weird people out there but you gotta be the strangest, you and your fancy British accent." I said as I stood up and tried to walk away.

He grabbed my hand which made me stop. His hand didn't feel normal. It felt worn, from grabbing too many other's hands. Something about his hand made me stop and turn and look.

"Trust me, I'm the Doctor." He said with a half smile.

Maybe it was his face,  or his hair. Maybe even how he talked. Or was it the feel of his hand? I don't know what it was but something about him made me trust him. I clasped his hand and smile. I grabbed my backpack and said "let's go, what else have I got to lose?"

He smiled back. "Well then, Geronimo."

We ran away. We splashed through rain puddles and danced in the rain. I never had this much fun in the rain before. He picked me up and swung me around in the rain. We got soaked. He took his tweed jacket with those stupid elbow patches and gave it to me. I laughed when I saw it. I took it and put it over both of us. He wouldn't let me cover him also so I didn't cover myself either. He took me to this blue box that read 'police public call box' on the top. It was so tiny.

"Uhh, what's this?" I asked slightly confused.

"It's my time machine." He said with a straight face and without hesitation.

"Your what!?!?" I busted out in laughter. "I have a doctorates in computer forensics so that also covers most forms of typical science so i should know if that is even physically possible. Yea right, time machine, please. Be a bit more realistic when you randomly pick up girls."

"I'm not kidding." He says. He grabbed my hand and as I struggle out of his grip. He opens the front door of his so called 'time machine.' Once those doors were opened and he dragged me in I stopped. I stood there in amazement. I ran out and ran around the small box and ran inside. I was about to speak when he stopped me.

"It's bigger on the inside I know." He says.

"How did you know I was gonna say that?" I asked.

He stops and looks at me. "Everyone asks the same thing."
