He smiles and pulls a lever. The tardis starts to move. It was rumbling and tumbling around. I had to grab on one of the bars near the center console. I couldn't stand still. I wrapped my arms around the bars deciding if i've made a mistake or not. I hold on tight closing my eyes fantasizing about where we're going. I can't even imagine. If he's an alien then they're might be more of his kind, or even other aliens. I guess i was wrong all this time. After about 10 minutes the TARDIS calms down.

"Are we there? That was horrible." I said

"Everyone's first time is scary, you'll get used to it." He mentions.

"So where are we?" I ask.

"We are in 1953 New Orleans, Louisiana. It's Mardi Gras I believe judging by it's decorations and crowds of people and exotic smells of special foods." He rumbles on and on.

We we're looking outside the tardis. There were crowds of people and pretty and shiny decorations and also, my favorite part, yummy looking food. My mouth was watering and my eyes were wide open. The look on my face must of looked desiring because the next words out of the Doctor's mouth excited me.

"Would you like to visit for a little bit?" He said.

"Yes, yes, definitely yes." I said very fast.

"Well first we have to blend in. You can't go out there wearing an outfit that wasn't even a thought yet." He said

I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing white Doc Martens with black laces, skinny jeans, a Coldplay shirt, a gray hoodie with a denim vest over it.

"You're probably right." I said.

"To the right and straight down the hall is the closet. Just go in and you'll see clothes that are for you to blend in with." He said

I went down the hall and saw the closet. I walked in. I noticed all these lovely clothes. Clothes from victorian eras to way into the future. I found the perfect dress. It was red and elbow length sleeves. It was velvety and very pretty. I also found shoes similar to my Doc Martens. They were full black. I went to change and I saw a tag on the dress: Clara Oswald. I wonder who that is. I put the outfit on and then put my hair up in a high bun. I walked out and the Doctor was leaning against the console.

"How do I look?" I said with a smile.

He looked at me with a smile at first and it quickly turned into a frown. Not any frown though, he seemed like he was about to cry.

"Should I change?" I asked worried.

He sniffled, "no no its fine. It's just, that dress, it was a friend of mine."

"Tell me about this 'friend'." I said.

"Her name was Clara. Clara Oswald." He said

Clara Oswald.  I thought about the inscription on the dress.

"She was my traveling companion. She was my best friend, but i lost her, like everyone else." He said

"How did you lose her?" I asked

"She looked into the heart of the Tardis. Thats something you never want to do. It kills you. Although this didn't kill her. It took her. She's the Tardis. I guess its not that bad, but I sure do miss her with me. But she told me to move on. So thats when I found you." He said.

"Wow, I never knew. You seemed like the happiest person alive, without a care in the world."I mentioned.

"Sometimes the happiest people are the lonliest people." He says.

I stand next to him. He has his head down. As i stare at him closer i see a streak of water falling from his right eye. I gently grab his hand. I looked at him and he looked at me back.

"I won't leave you i promise." I said.

He kissed my forehead and placed his chin on top of my head. "Thank you." He replied

I smiled and he took my hand and spun me around. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" He said.

We walked out of the tardis. We were strolling down the streets of New Orleans hand in hand and danced to the jazz music of Louis Armstrong. He spun me around and we started to swing dance.

"I didn't know you could dance so well Doctor" i said.

"I learned in 18th century France, Madame de Pompadour, such a nice woman." He said.

I looked at him with a little confusion. We both giggled at that. Suddenly a man, maybe in his 30's, came up to us.

"You guys are great dancers! Would you like to join the dance contest down by Bayou?" He asked us.

We both looked at each other and nodded i agreement.

"Sign us up." I said smiling with excitement.

We wandered the streets some more and finally went down to the bayou. We got numbers to put on our backs. We got 7, which is my lucky number. So we gathered around the fountain. Around us were christmas lights strung lamp post to lamp post. The smell of spices and jumbalaya fill the evening air. i feel safe with the Doctor. I'm not sure what it is, but he seems different, he makes me feel secure. As they start to play the music we start to dance. We step back and then forward. He twirls me twice and then picks me up in the air and swings me under his legs. We do more 4 step movements and then repeat the process. After the music ends the audience applauses. We hug each other then grab each others hands.
