Riley and the Doctor

Chapter 6

"What the hell Riley!?" He exclaimed.

"What i do?" I asked.

"The Cybermen upgrade whenever they find more weaknesses. You just showed them one of theirs. Now they'll upgrade and you'll never be able to do that again. If you had let me think we could of figured this out rationally." He tried to say calmly.

"Well i'm sorry. It's not like I know everything about the universe and all its creatures.  I'm sorry, lets just think this over ok. Be chill." I mentioned

The doctor wandered around in circles. He kept talking to himself and hitting his head.

"Doctor, lets go." I said. I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the TARDIS. We went back to the ground safe and sound.

"Doctor, i'm going to my room. It seems like you need to think." I said

I waited till he said something but he didn't. So i just went to my room. I sat there lying on my bed just thinking. I pulled out my phone and played some music. All of a sudden my door opened.

"Doctor?" I sat up.

"Riley i need to talk to you about what happened." He said.

"Doctor, i'm sorry." I said.

He sat down next to me.

"Riley, you could of been killed." He said.

"But i didn't." I said.

He turned his head towards me "Riley..." He stopped in his tracks and just stared at me. I saw his eyes again. They were deeper before. But there was a slight sparkle.

"Doctor," i said.

"No Riley, sometimes it's okay to be brave. And sometimes it's okay to step down. I'm not always brave. Sometimes, that's what helps me. I don't want to lose you." He said very aggressively.

"Has it happened before?" I asked.

"What?" He asked confused.

"Your companions. did they try to be brave?" I asked oce more.

"A few, " He said "I had one who tried being brave to save the entire universe. She ended up forgetting who i was and every adventure we shared. She was my best friend. I can't lose you the same way. It's not fair for you and your life."

"Doctor," i said "I don't have a life to go back to. No one wants me. I have nothing. This is all i have now."

"So what you're saying is," He stalled.

"You're stuck with me." i said sternly "Till i'm done."

The doctor showed off a shy smile. He told me goodnight and kissed my forehead. He walked out and turned off my light for me. I put my head on my pillow and fell into a deep slumber.
