Squad Seven rode a small boat under the cover of the fog. Naruto looked around trying to see past the thick fog that surrounded him. Sasuke looked to the other side of the boat just staring into the fog. Sakura glared at (Y/n) as she noticed she was wearing one of Sasuke's shirts. And (Y/n) sat playing with the stray hair strands that flowed in front of her face. "Tazuna, I want to ask you something before we arrive at the pier... The identity of your assailants and the reason why they are after you. If you don't tell us... I'm afraid the mission will end when we reach landfall." Kakashi warned. Sakura, Naruto, and Kakashi watched the man intently. Sasuke looked forward and couldn't care less while (Y/n) looked at the body of water that surrounded her as she let her hand graze its surface as the water rushed away. "It appears I have no choice but to tell you. Frankly, I'd like you to listen," Tazuna began. "Just as you said, this may be beyond the scope of your mission. Actually, I am being targeted by a terrifying man." He said. "A terrifying man...? Who?" Kakashi questioned. "You guys have probably heard at least his name before. A shipping magnate by the name of Gato," he explained. "What? Gato... of the Gato Company? One of the world's richest men?" the Jonin questioned further. "Yes. On the surface, he's the chief executive of a shipping company. But underneath, he is into drug-trafficking and deals in contraband using gangs and ninjas. Moreover, he runs a despicable business ruthlessly taking over nations and entire enterprises. It was about one year ago when the man first set his eyes on the Land of the Waves. He used his wealth and violence to enter this country, and before anyone knew it, he had taken complete control of the island's maritime transportation and shipping. Having a tight grip on the ocean, in an island nation like the Land of Waves means having control of finance, the government, the people... everything. The one thing Gato fears... is the completion of the bridge. It has been under construction for some time now." He ended. "I see. You've become a hindrance since you are the one building the bridge." Sakura explained. "So, those ninja who attacked, they were Gato's men...?" Sasuke questioned the pinkette. "Thank you, Captain Obviouses..." (Y/n) said as she stepped off the boat. "What the-?!" Sakura said as she looked off the edge of the boat. "Don't worry about me, just need to take a walk." the Genin said as she walked on the body of water to the pier. "How is she walking on...?" Sakura mumbled.
'Geez... This place is...depressing... Gato really did a number on these people...' (Y/n) thought as she walked through the streets of the village. People who barely ate a thing roamed the streets. Kids who looked deeply malnourished sat along the walls of long deserted shops. The Genin reached into her bag. 'It may not be a lot but it's all I've got on me' she took out some apples and a few oranges and gave one to every kid she passed by. She knew it wouldn't be much but the smile they had on their faces meant everything to her. They have it a lot worse than she did, and if she can make them smile, it is enough to make her feel as if she did something right. "T-thank you, miss!" Every kid would say as they took the fruit. (Y/n) kept walking as a small smile formed on her face. 'At least they ate something today... But... that's not enough...' at this thought her smile turned into a frown. She stood there standing in the middle of the street in thought. 'Yeah! That'll work!' The small Hatake began racing through every street of the impoverished village. As she passed by a kid, she told them to follow her, which they gladly did, not having anything else to do. By the time she had finished running through every street, she had about fifty kids surrounding her. 'Don't you think their parents are worried that they child followed a random stranger into the forest?' Kurama questioned. 'Ah, shhhhhhh, ya nosy fox...' (Y/n) pouted. "Alright! Everybody step back!" she yelled as all the kids observed from behind the trees. The girl bit her thumb causing blood to drip out. "Summoning Jutsu!" she yelled as she slammed her hand on the ground below her. Every boy and girl watched in awe as a large veil of smoke engulfed the strange girl and the trees that environed her. As the smoke cleared, every kid watched in confusion. Where the girl once stood, now laid a large pile of sacks. One girl approached the mountain and opened one of the sacks that rested at her feet. Her eyes widened as she stared at the contents. The sacks were full of food. There was bread, fruit, vegetables, and meat. "There ya go! Everybody gets two sacks!" (Y/n) yelled as she squatted on a branch, waving at the kids below her. They all had giant smiles as the looked at the mountain of food. They all ran and started to pull on their bags. (Y/n) stared down as the little kids tried to move the bags but failed, miserably. 'Didn't think that one through....' 'Each bag is the size of one kid... Doesn't really take a genius to figure it out...' 'Got it!' The masked Genin jumped off the branch and walked a few feet away from the bags. "Summoning Jutsu!" she yelled once more. A line of wagons appeared in a split second. 'Oh no... I'm gonna have to carry all of the bags one by one right....' 'Use the shadow cl-' 'I know! I'll use shadow clones!' "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" the girl yelled as a clone appeared next to every wagon. "Alright, let's go!" the original cheered. Every clone ran towards the sacks of food as they each carried two, one in each arm. Every kid smiled and talked with the clone that helped them and gave them a hug after they put set the food down on the wagons. "Thank you, miss!" They all yelled in unison. The clones disappeared as the kids ran off pulling their wagons back home to their families. (Y/n) looked at the retreating figures of the kids with a small smile curving her lips. "Seems like they all like you. You're most likely their hero now," A soothing voice said behind the trees. (Y/n) turned around to see an unfamiliar figure. "Huh? Who are you?" the girl said as she looked at the person. She watched as they walked towards her. They had long dark brown hair, warm brown eyes, and fair skin. "I'm Haku," they said with a warm smile. "O-Oh, I'm (Y/n)" the Genin said as heat rose up her cheeks. 'What the hell is happening? Why is so hot out here!?' she thought. "You seem to have a way with kids," they said as they stood a few feet away from her. "N-Not at all! I just wanted to make them happy," the girl said as she waved both hands dismissively. "Well I think you achieved more than that," they still had that same warm smile. "U-uh... Haku?" (Y/n) said as she avoided their gaze. "Yes?" they tilted their head in confusion. "A-are you male or female... I can't tell..." she said as her face was nearly completely red. "Oh, I'm male," he said, not offended in the slightest. "Sorry, I couldn't tell if you were a beautiful girl or a really cute boy," and as soon as she said that her eyes widened in realization of what she just said. "I-I'm sorry!" the girl said as she bowed trying to hide her now tomato like appearance. "It's alright, I get that quite a lot, so I don't mind," he said as he put his hand under her chin, lifting her up from her bow. They both sat down, chatting away as if they were close friends. Even though they just met, they both seemed comfortable around each other's presence, like they could say anything and not feel embarrassed.
