CHAPTER ELEVEN: this is my son
-
Finn"Millie I have to go," I mumbled against her lips but she just pulled me closer. "I don't want you to go," she whispered, her eyes closed, our foreheads pressed against one another.
Her hand ruffles through my hair and my heart races even faster. "You know I have to Mills..." I protested weakly. She sighed softly pressing her lips to mine one last time before pulling back.
"Okay. Come back to me in one piece Finn cause if-"
I cut her off with a brief kiss once more. "I'll be fine."
She smiles at me and I swear if I don't get out of that room fast I'm gonna tell her that I love her and I don't know if I'm ready for that.
So quickly pressing my mouth to her forehead I all but run out of the house. How do I even process that I'm in love with Millie, whom is a ghost.
Try and take deep breathes and go on walks?
Yeah like that'll do anything.
I brushed it all off for now and softly rapped my knuckles on the wooden door. It swung open after a moment to Mr. Modine and he let me in. Another man came into view when I stepped in, he looked probably around his late thirties with brown hair and eyes.
"This is my son," Mr.Modine spoke suddenly and I jumped at it. I couldn't help but feel nervous at his sons gaze, it was almost critical.
Like he could see right through me.
He stuck out his hand, "I'm Romeo."
I nodded shaking his hand back politely. "Romeo came early than expected so I won't be needing you for awhile. He said he'd take over everything. Isn't that great?" He asked with a smile.
"Uh-yeah! That's great..." but something felt off. Romeo's stare was hard and it gave me the chills. Could he be apart of this too?
My curiosity roared.
"Well then I guess I'll be out of your hair then," I smiled with a small awkward wave. I closed the door behind me, letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
Something wasn't right here and I was gonna find out what it was. Enough waiting for my chance while I'm here, I'm gonna take matters into my own hands for once.
I looked back up at the house one last time before riding off.

"Yeah mom, I already did the dishes I'll be in the attic!" I yelled walking up the stairs before pulling the steps down from the ceiling.
"Hey Mills, turns out Mr. Modine won't be needing me for awhile since his son is here and if your asking me something's off- woah- hey are you okay?" My mouth dropped slightly at Millie who sat on the couch near tears, a frame on her lap.
She sniffled forcing a smile on. "I'm fine."
"Bullshit. Tell me." She glared slightly. "You know I don't like it when you cuss Finn."
