12:30 pm the food is on time as always, and its bland like always, and I sit with the same people as always. The people I sit with is the only thing the government can't control, I still have some control. Ashley notices me just playing around with the food.
"Josh, you should eat that before lunch ends..." Ashley whispers.
Why is she whispering there are no officers in here today? I furrow my brows in confusion and look at her, but I feel someone tap my shoulder. That was rough, I twist my head abruptly while keeping the same face towards whoever taped my shoulder. Tyler's face almost touched mine too close, I walk scoot back a bit.
My breath stutters, as I open my mouth to ask him what he is doing here. I try to talk but no words come out. He doesn't say anything either we just stare at each other trying to read each other's emotions. A smile forms on his face and just turned around leaving me in silence and confusion, he didn't even look back.
"What the fricking heck was that?" Ashley inquired
"I wish I knew too, that was so weird" I replied
The lunch bell rings and my face matches Ashley's, slightly surprised that lunch ended earlier than normal and confused as all hell.
Something that always bothered me is how as you get older, you ask more questions than you get answers, and right now the question that seems to worry me the most is that fact that no one knows where the English teacher is. This is the first time in an eternity something like this happened. And something even weirder happed, Tyler's in class for once. Now that I notice, there have been a surprisingly lack number of officers and well staff in general. And it's not like normal citizens that are missing its high-ranking officials, I wonder what's happening? Again, someone taps my shoulder again, but this time it was softer. As I look back I see Tyler again. I don't know if he noticed but my eye unintentionally started twitching at the sight of his face.
"So, you how long had that twitch? Ahh anyways I am asking for you to come with me and hang out after they release us," Tyler spoke confidently, like he prepared for this moment.
"Um.... they release us is in four hours and I need to make it home before six, so I can't," I retaliated
"You sure," He said raising one eyebrow.
The intercom blares "Greetings student's due to complications we ae allowing all students to be released early, you will have a free recreational day today"
"You know what fine let's go, where are we going," I reluctantly responded.
Tyler grabs my hand and out the do we go.
