Whoever invented alcohol; I hate you.

But I also love you.

Our relationship is complicated, we have our ups and downs, and right now i'm afraid we're in a down. I didn't even hear my dad leave, though at one point i'm fairly certain I heard him come into my room and felt him place a soft kiss on my forehead, but other than that, he could have just vanished into thin air for all the notice my mind took of it.

I managed to roll out of bed at eleven am and stumbled my way over to the bathroom to throw up the nights worth of alcohol that was still in me, and then downed what must have been two litres of bathroom tap water.

I didn't even want to know what I looked like, and avoided the mirror at all costs as I brushed my teeth, then had a hot shower, after that I was feeling a little more like myself, and the weariness was leaving me, gaining more alertness as my body woke up.

It was then that it occurred to me that it was the middle of the week, and I was supposed to be at school.

Whoops, what are you gonna do?

After grabbing some food from the kitchen I headed back upstairs and flopped down onto my bed, just as my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I answered, seeing that it was Matt calling me.

"Hey Nova, how are you feeling?" He sounded fine, which wasn't surprising; Matt was a warrior when it came to hang overs, he literally never got one. Jake on the other hand almost always got one, but that didn't stop him drinking like a viking.

"I'm fine, chunder city this morning but all good now." I say as I bite into my toast.

"Classy lady, you are." Matt snorts and I laugh as well, "My mom and dad have a business thing at the house today and need the driveway, would you be able to come and get your car?" He asks, sounding a little guilty.

"Yeah no problem." I assure him, and get up to put some clothes on, as much as I would like to spend the whole day in my pjs, I don't think the local community will like me strolling about in them.

"I've already called the others, they're on their way, and Cora is still here." Matt informs me before saying goodbye and hanging up.

I quickly pull on a pair leggings, a black top and my denim jacket and slip on my converses, then grab my keys and head out the door. I can see my next door neighbor Mrs Cantworth watching me from her window, probably noting down that I wasn't at school, so I just wave at her and smile.

The walk back to Matt's seems shorter this time than it did walking home with Ty last night.

Oh god, Ty.

Would he be there when I got there, what would I say?

Wait, no. Stop over thinking things, Nova Reid doesn't over think.

I didn't bump into him on the way to Matt's, but he was there when I arrived, as well as Nate, Jake, Matt, Seth and a grumpy looking Cora, it seemed I was the last to arrive.

"Good morning my little sproglets." I say randomly as I walk up the driveway to where they're all standing and talking together, not knowing where on earth that sentence came from, but moving on, I can work it.

"Morning, morning." Nate says as I reach them, a big grin on his face, Nate was another one who was never effected by alcohol.

"Why are you all still here, is it a meeting or something?" I joked as I joined the circle they were stood in, studiously avoiding Ty's gaze, I did not need some creepy little butterflies in my stomach when I felt uneasy as it is, the last thing I wanted to do was projectile vomit across Matt and Jake's front yard.
