The next week was awful; Ty kept to his word and didn't talk to me, not a single sentence, not even a hello in the morning when we all met up at school before our classes started. At first I was releived becuase I was still angry at him, but as each day passed I realised I didn't like not speaking to Ty.
I don't know why, like I keep saying; we barely know each other, but just being so close to him and not being able to talk to him like I normally would makes me feel like shit.
He doesn't even give me a second look anymore, it's as if i'm not there.
The lake weekend approached quicker than anticipated, normally I would be stoaked that it was finally time, but what with Ty and his silent treatment, I couldn't help but be a little unsure about the trip.
"What's wrong with you?" Cora asked at lunch on Thursday, the day before we left for the lake.
I shrugged as I bit into my sandwhich, "Nothing's wrong." I say.
Cora snorted as she dug into her food, once again having absolutely no table manners, but that was Cora for you. "Bullshit, the Nova I know would be dancing on the table right now, it;s Lake time tomorrow!" She exclaimed and I couldn't help but smile at my best friend.
"I know, it's just Ty." I say and glare over at where the boys had just entered the cafateria and were getting their food.
"No way, you are not letting some guy stop you from having fun!" Cora said and slammed her hand down on the table for emphasis. "I will not let you do that, Ty is the new guy and you're Nova Reid, if anyone should feel awkward this weekend it's him, and does he look awkward to you Nova?"
I looked over at the boys, Matt and Nate were busy putting food on their trays while Jake, Seth and Ty were laughing about something. He'd been here, what, two weeks? And already it felt like he was more apart of the group than I was.
"Fuck him, I am not letting him ruin this for me!" I fianally say, snapping my attention back to Cora who was grinning at me, "If he wants to be an asshole and play some stupid game, then game on!"
"There's the Nova I know and love!" She cheered and threw an arm around me, planting a kiss on my cheek just as the boys joined us at the table.
"Sweet, some lesbian action!" Jake gasped as he sat, Cora just flipped him the bird and carried on with her food.
Matt sat on the oposite side of me while Ty sat next to Jake and Seth slipped into the last seat between Ty and Matt.
"So are you girls all packed for tomorrow?" Matt asked us, Coras mouth was too full to answer so before she could even try and probably spit it all across the table I answered for us both.
"Yeah, she's staying at mine tonight so no one needs to pick her up." I say and Matt nods.
"Cool, i'm taking Jake and Nate, are you driving?" He asked. Matt was always like this when we went away, he was like the designated trip planner and went over every detail like six times.
"No, Seth is gonna drive and Cora and I will go with him." I say, and then swallow my pride as I look up at Ty. "What about you, how are you getting there?" I ask, making sure my voice was just as level as when I was talking to Matt.
Unfortunatley Jake didn't get the memo that Ty and I weren't really seeing eye to eye and this was my way of breaking the ice before the trip since he blurted in and answered for him. "Ty's driving himself but following behind us." He says and I just nod. So much for getting Ty to talk to me, this trip was going to be awkawrd for me whether Cora liked it or not if I couldn't atleast get him speaking to me.
