~~~Aaron's POV~~~
Today marks my first week of being in the pack. Those bastards will soon pay for murdering my mother, all because she was a predatory wolf. I just need to start my training to show them what a real wolf can do.
The Alpha came into my dormitory. The other mixtures all stood at attention, as did I. The Alpha, Matthew Youngling Howler, walked up to me and took me by the shoulders. He knelt and looked into my eyes.
" Why are you here, young one?" Being twelve I was offended. I looked the Alpha in the eye and and readied myself for my confession.
"My mother was murdered for being a wolf," my throat welled up and it became hard to breathe. " I was bullied to the point I couldn't handle it. I want to train as hard as I can in order to show those assholes what a real wolf can be." I was yelling and tears were streaking down my face, my paws were bleeding and the Alpha just stared.
A punch came from my side and I buckled. I was on the floor when I saw the Lion/Wolf mixture, Alexander, getting beat by the Alpha. He was a bloodied pulp and I was sure his muzzle was broken.
The last thing I saw was the Alpha come over to me and cradle me I his arms.
He whispered into my ear, " You are the one, Aaron, who will find the next Alpha and bring her to me. You will now work for me and your pack."
~~~Storm's POV~~~
After a few days of running, I stumbled upon an old gas station with an Elephant at work. I chatted up the elephant and bought some snacks, a few Monster Energy drinks, and a sac. I waved the young man off and walked into the parking lot to smell a disgusting odor. Skunk. I searched the parking lot for the scent and knocked on the window. An elderly skunk by the name of Diane, said she would help me if I could give her some of my make up.
"I don't have any with me," I blurted. The old skunk hackled.
"That must me why you let it sweat off. Where must you be running to in the south, dear?" She wiped my face gingerly and wiped a hand, covered in die, on her pant.
"I'm trying to save a young boy by the name of Aaron. His dad is very special to me..." I was about to cry. I felt everything tense up. A gentle elderly hand rested on my shoulder. I cried for about half an hour and finally, I gathered myself. "I need to go into the Howler territory. So the PineWood forest would be great."
Diane dropped me off on the old winding road where I spent days trying to come to civilization. She gave me $20 and a tip on how to keep sweat from ruining makeup. I waved her goodbye and she drove away. This is all for you Shadow. You're basically my only family and I won't damage it. I took my first step into pine straw and pine cones.
~~~Shadow's POV~~~
I picked up another scent trail at an old gas station. It led to a parking spot then it was gone. SHIT!!!
I had ran inside and asked around. I finally spoke to an elephant by the name Tanaka. He had told me a young woman had ran by here and bought roady snacks and that she had gotten into a car with an old skunk.
I ran home faster and any cheetah could. I got into my car and sped to the park where I had first found her. In all her majestic beauty. I searched the park for even a tiny scent and all I got was a faint old scent from the bench. It made my heart stop. She isn't here... Once again I got into my car. I know where you're going.
