~~~ Storm's POV~~~
I limp along the familiar trail to the keep, the walls of the main manor begin to look like ancient battlements. Father always had a knack for style. Greedy bastard... I look around for any scouts and I can see none, a small blessing, catching them on a shift change. Hopefully, I can make it to the pups in time to find Aaron and get the hell out of here.
As I make my way on down through the shadows, a slight buzzing starts in my ears, an annoying ring similar to that of a mosquito who won't fuck off. Then I hear that fucker's voice over the intercom system.
"Long last, my beautiful whore of a daughter has returned home to daddy, unfortunately, daddy has some business to attend to so you can fight my fiercest little rascal, the next Alpha in line" His chuckle flittered throughout the buildings of the lavish prison. Another ring had gates closing all around me. I readied my self for the next son of a bitch to come my way. Most likely strong, obedient and stupid, just like my father wants for an Alpha.
I couldn't hold my gasp or keep the tightening of my chest from showing on my face. A small pup walked out into the street before me. Not much older than sweet Tuck, Oh, I hope he's alive... I shake the thought from my head and lowered my knife the same time the child shakily rose his.
~~~ Aaron's POV~~~
Now's my time to shine.
I've been trained in killing, I can get them to trust me, I can do this!
Every step brought me closer and closer to my plan to take down this pack. I hate the thought of killing though, it's so wrong, but Momma always told me... "You always gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette". That's exactly what I'm gon--
I didn't expect the woman to look so much like my Momma. I know it can't be her, unless she was a ghost. No it cant be her, she smells wrong, her eyes aren't the same color as Momma, This woman has a bright yellow-gold rather than Mum's honey colored eyes. Her nose, and her tail and her patches of fur showing through a horrible dye job, looks exactly like Momma. I know this woman is the Alpha's daughter and I have to kill her. I raise my knife the same time she lowers hers with actual pity in those alluring golden eyes.
Her gaze then shifted to curiosity, then to amazement. She kept her voice low, and lowered her head to where her face was covered by her flowing hair.
"Aaron, if that's you, I'm here to take you back home. Come with me and we can get out of this hell hole." Her voice was monotonous and barely more than a whisper. I stifled a sob and the next sound was my knife clattering to the ground and her sigh of relief. Most likely from the miracle of not having to fight me - in what could barely be called a fight- and which I could quite obviously lose despite her seen injuries.
And as fast as lightning she was struck still, reaching for her neck in awe, as her hair shifted with the movement I could make out the bright red of a tranquilizer dart. She looked back to me and mouthed, Run. As soon as I took a step away a small sting hit my neck, then the world went black.
~~~ Shadow's POV ~~~
I hitched a ride with an oncoming car, heading towards South Pinewood. The female didn't necessarily say much except "What's wrong with the boy?" I could barely get the words out fast enough, the only thing I knew was the gang shot an arrow through the boy and I know nothing about him.
As we sped to the hospital the woman rushed inside and asked for a stretcher. It seemed like all of these people knew and respected this... this... what is she? She looks like a mix between Wolf and Tiger with the power of a Lioness. As the boy was taken away I slightly remembered Storm saying Tucker. Possibly his name, but all that matters now is making sure Tu-- STORM- HOLY SHIT IS SHE OKAY? SHE WAS BLEEDING AND IN A HOLE AND HOLY F*&K !! I ran around the hospital searching for the woman in a panic hoping she would know the destination of the pack responsible for Mable's death and Storm's pain. The same pack holding my son hostage! I finally found her and composed myself enough to get out, "Do you know how to get to the keep for the South Pinewood Pack?"
Her eyes were reassuring in knowing where and what i was talking about, but her eyes also told me that that would be impossible.
"Yes, please calm down, you're safe now. That is nowhere you need to be at this time." My heart sank and I got this aching feeling in my gut, like a tug that pulled me the direction I came. Like someone reached out and pulled a string tied to my middle.
"Look, lady, you don't understand. My son is there and Storm is there and I'm sure she's in danger. Please help me save them. Please." I didn't notice my hands on her shoulder's tightly squeezing her until her paw was atop mine.
" Do you mean Storm Howler? Daughter of Matthew Howler the Alpha of South?" Her eyes met mine with a mix of hope and fury, like they were burning stars in a cloud of dark grey. Her eyes were absolutely beautiful. I could hardly get out the word, Yes.
"This changes everything," she pulled out her phone and made a phone call. "Hey, we have Alpha's location" a pause then, " Affirmative." She put her phone away and walked me to an empty hall. " We're going to suppose you're trustworthy, Storm is the rightful Alpha, her sister Anna, was supposedly killed by the Alpha, but my pack, run by their mother, helped Anna cover her identity. She went on to live a happy life with her husband and her son but she was found and killed. So, in the end the Alpha got the job done. We are going to retrieve Storm and your son and bring them to safety. Understood?"
My mind was racing so I just nodded. Who was Anna? I hope Storm is safe. I hope Aaron is okay too... Oh god what have I gotten into?
