Y/N'S POV:
Something I've always despised was blind dates because you never know, but your date could end up being a serial killer.
And that's exactly what my best friend did to me- she set me up with some guy from her job and now I'm currently meeting him at some fancy schmancy place.
"I want to throw up, please don't make me go! We can just watch movies and- and eat all the junk food you want, it'll be our little girls night."
Y/F/N giggles, "Our weekly girls night happened yesterday. Go in there and just show this dude your true self. I promise you that he's literally adorable and too sweet."
My car door opens and she shoos me out, telling me to have a great time in a motherly way. She shouts an 'I love you' before leaving me on the curb in front of the restaurant. My stomach growls and I knew that I had no choice, but to go in there.
My white heels click-clack against the ground as I make my way into the place. Warmth instantly fixing the goosebumps that formed on my arms from the cool autumn air outside.
"Hello! Welcome to Le Gallie, do you already have reservations or no?" A bubbly waitress greets me at the spinning doors.
"Uh yes, I'm actually under the last name Holland?" I inform with a small nervous smile.
She glances down at the book in front of her, nodding to herself before making eye contact with me. "Ah yes, yes, follow me, ma'am!"
I slowly drag myself behind the strawberry blonde woman who looked a couple years older than me.
Only a couple hours Y/N, then you can go home, I thought to myself.
"Mr. Holland?" The waitress says which causes the brunette man to look up from his phone. His beautiful dark brown eyes meeting my Y/E/C ones, a soft smile on his lips.
"Thank you, ma'am," He nods towards the waitress and she leaves us alone. "So, you're the wonderful best friend that Y/F/N always rambles on about." He says as he stands up from his chair to pull out mine like a lovely gentleman.
A light laugh escapes from my mouth, "I could say the same about you, but she really only told me about you last night."
"Eh that's okay, I really started working at Applebee's with her less than two months ago and ever since she started training me it was non-stop talk about you. So, then she finally decided to set us up I guess." He shrugs, a low cute chuckle coming from him.
"Well, that sounds exactly like how I do her whenever she's not around." I tease. "Anyways, what's your first name? I only know you by Holland which is what Y/F/N always calls you by."
"Tom, yours?" He asks and a smile comes across my face at the charming name that fits him perfectly.
"Y/N," I simply state with a shrug.
"Gorgeous name, for a gorgeous girl." He smirks.
Just as I was about to respond with a thank you, the waiter comes to take our orders along with our drinks then leaves us alone, again.
Tom places his head in the palm of his hand, all his attention focused on me which causes me to blush. My fingers pull some loose hair behind my ear to distract myself from blushing even more than I already am.
"So, what part of the U.K. are you from? I'm not trying to sound creepy, but I couldn't help to notice your cute accent." I say and instantly regret it, praying to myself that he didn't hear the 'cute' part.
"Cute accent? Thanks love," His smiles, which turns into a smirk within seconds. "But I'm from Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom. How about you?"
"Y/HT/N, it's very peaceful and small- something that I actually like because I'm not an outgoing person," I admit.
"Oh really?" He bites his lip, in concentration. "Say, let's ditch this place. It's a bit too fancy for me and it makes me feel sick to my stomach."
"That's what I was telling Y/F/N! I think we should at least leave a tip since they already started on our food." I politely state as I begin to take out my wallet, but I'm stopped once his hand covers mine.
"Don't worry, I got it." He smiles, placing a ten dollar bill on the table then grabbing my hand and we run out of the restaurant.
We get to the end of the street where the restaurant is out of sight, both of us breathing heavily and laughing at the same time.
Finally calming down, I turn to Tom with a smile. "Those cooks are going to be so angry for us ditching our untouched meals."
"They'll get over it, hundreds of people probably go there twenty-four-seven." Tom shrugs, his hand slipping into mine.
A warm tingling feeling shoots up my arm, but I chose to ignore it and go on with the date.
"You want to go somewhere peaceful and small?" He questions as we slowly walk through the city, hand in hand.
"Two words that describe my hometown? I think yes!" I grin and began to speed up our walking pace, Tom leading the way.

After fifteen minutes of walking in complete, but comfortable silence, Tom and I finally arrive at an empty field with a river going down the middle of it. There's a wooden railing traveling along the sides of the water, so you wouldn't be able to swim in it even if you wanted to.
"What is this place?" I whisper to no one in particular.
"This place my dear Y/N is where some unimportant building was supposed to be. Luckily, a smart person who absolutely adores nature had a mini protest to keep it free from pollution so they kept it abandoned just like the person wanted." He explains as he walks over to the railing, taking a seat on it.
"That person must've been you," I giggle while going over to join him.
Our feet dangling over the beautiful clear blue water, the fishes swimming down below us. My eyes widen in excitement as I watch them just swim around hurriedly as if they had someplace to be.
"It sure was!" He finally responds, breaking the thin air of silence between us.
Out the corner of my peripheral vision, Tom's eyes graze over my body and I blush even more for the second time tonight.
"This has actually been fun so far even though we didn't eat," I tell him as his hand slides into mine, his lips kissing the back of it.
"You are really right." He lightly laughs. "There's a twenty-four hour McDonald's about a few minutes away if you'd like to go there."
"Totally," I begin. "But let's wait for a little while longer...it's so peaceful and small here, just how I like it."
