Y/N'S POV:

The heavy textbooks are tucked underneath my arms as I stroll down the hallways of hell. Or as some people love to call it- school. The school day had ended and I couldn't be anymore desperate for this weekend to take its precious time rather than rushing like it usually does.

As I make it outside of the building, I spot three dorks whom two of them I happily call my friends and one whom I consider my boyfriend. All of their heads turn once they see me coming down the cemented stairs.

"Woo! It's Friday, what are you two love birds doing tonight?" Michelle asks as I get closer to the three of them.

"Well," I begin while linking my arm with Peter's. "I have to babysit as soon as I get home and my shift won't be over until about four in the morning."

Ned scrunches his nose, sending me an apologetic smile. "Damn. Hopefully you don't die while babysitting those children."

"Eh he's a newborn. So, I'm lucky because he doesn't do much." I shrug.

The four of us burst into laughter before bidding our goodbye's. Michelle and Ned going to their cars while Peter and I walked hand in hand down the sidewalk in the direction of the apartment complex we lived in.

My eyes move over to the side of Peter's face as he messages someone on the phone with his free hand. I glance at the phone, then flickering my attention back to his face only to notice a purple bruise on his cheek.

"Babe?" I question, earning a small 'hmm' from him. "What happened to your cheek? You've got quite a mark there."

His hand slips from mine and he quickly slaps it on the spot, covering it with a nervous chuckle falling from his mouth. "Uh n-nothing!"

"That's not nothing, Pete." I furrow my eyebrows. "Is someone bothering you and you're not telling me?"

"Y/N, it's nothing. I promise." He assures, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, and placing a kiss on my forehead.

I let the conversation fade and enjoy the rest of walk to the apartment complexes. About ten minutes later we arrive to the apartment I shared with my older brother. I spin around before heading inside, my arms going around Peter's neck, our lips only inches away from one an other's.

"Are you going to need some company while babysitting?" He mutters, placing his hands on my hips.

I lightly giggle, blood rushing up my cheeks. "I don't think that'll be necessary, because then you'll distract me from taking care of the baby."

He playfully rolls his eyes, dryly chuckling. "Fine. Although, you're going to regret it once you miss me-" He places a chaste kiss on my lips. "And my kisses, along with my awesome cuddles."

My bottom lip pokes out as I realize how good of a tease he was. "I hate you with a passion and it's not even funny."

"Well-"

His sentence is cut short when loud gunshots come from outside, echoing, but they seemed further away from the complexes. Ear-spitting screams could be heard from hundreds of people and that only causes Peter to pull away from my grasp. Without giving me a chance to respond, he sprints down the hallway.
