I sat next to Archie as I listened to him play his song a few times.

"Here are the lyrics" He said handing me a sheet of paper.

"Thanks" I smiled.

"Alright so now that I've played it a few times, do you wanna run it through? You can just follow along with the lyrics ." He asked.

I nodded "sounds good"

He began to play the song, and we sang together.

I looked down nervously "I'm going to be honest I've never sang in front of an audience before, other than choir" I confessed.

"Really?" He asked shocked.

I nodded.

"Well you're a natural, so I'm sure you'll be great"

"Well, thanks" I replied.

"Yeah, so do you want to grab some coffee or something?" He asked.

I sighed.

"I'm sorry Archie, I probably shouldn't. You know, you're Betty's ex" I explained.

"Yeah, but you and Betty aren't together anymore?"

"It still feels wrong" I shook my head.

"It's okay, I understand" He reassured me.

"I'm sorry" I mumbled.

"Don't be it's totally fine. So for tomorrow be in the gym by 6 so we can run the song a few times before we perform" He explained.
