Meeting Him

Aphmau POV

The rumors were all different. One boy said the guy growled at him and another girl said he was foaming at the mouth. They made the new person sound like a psycho. I kinda felt bad for him. Everybody was talking crap about him and he'd only been here for a day. I didn't understand why every one was being a jerk about it.

I sighed as I sat on a bench in the back of the school. We had been released an hour ago, but I didn't feel like dealing with my mom. She had been super clingy lately and it was exhausting.

"Long day?" Some body asked, scaring the jeepers out of me.

I couldn't see who said it, but the voice was masculine. I looked around me, searching for the person who had said it but I couldn't see them. Then I heard a soft thump and a small chuckle. out of the corner of my eyes I caught some movement. I whipped my head around to see a werewolf boy in black clothes standing underneath a tree that was 15 feet away from me. He waved slightly and came and sat down on the other end of the bench.

"Everyone's gone home, so why haven't you?" I asked a little tentatively.

He shrugged.

"I don't have a home. I've got a house...but it's definitely not home."

He was very off putting...

The boy smiled.

"I-I'm Aphmau." I managed to stutter out.

"Aaron."

I tucked a strand of stray black hair behind my ear and stood.

"I should be heading to my house now...see you tomorrow?"

Aaron shrugged again.

I walked home quickly, feeling uneasy. The wind began to blow fiercely, and in the west I could see a mass of dark, clouds. I turned my hasty walk into a jog as they neared the Phoenix Drop valley. Rain drops began to splat on the concrete as I flat out ran. My house was still a good six blocks away, and the rain was getting worse. There was a loud thunderclap followed by a sprawling bolt of lightning. I was cold, wet, and tired. I wanted to be home as quick as possible so I ran through the terrible weather ignoring the loud claps of thunder. When I got home my mother was waiting for me at the door.

"Oh Mija!" She cried as I closed the door behind me.

"Hey mom! It's a bit nasty out there huh?" My mom came and took off my sopping wet backpack and nodded.

"I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some towels to dry you and the floor off." She smiled at me and then rushed off.

I stood and waited for what seemed like hours, but it was only 10 minutes or so.

"M-m-m-mom?" I called out through my chattering teeth.

Suddenly the lights flickered out, leaving me in almost complete darkness. I was nervous, cold, and alone. The storm seemed to be wailing, the wind whistling through our old house.

"Mom?" I called out a little louder.

I stepped away, my back against the cold front door when I heard it. It was ear shattering, terrifying, and eerie.

A long howl.

Whew! I updated for once! This chapter took me what felt like forever (It's only 576 words   -_-)! Half of it accidentally got deleted which was super frustrating, but I rolled with it. Hope ya liked it!
