Chapter Nine: Can't Have You (Oliver's POV)

Kyle has just exited the TARDIS and closed the door behind himself. It whirrs to life and then disappears from the world. I'm surprised after doing what I did he was so calm and forgiving of it. Niall was too. He ever wants me to be his groomsmen! Alongside my two best friends! For my other two friends!

Shoot, life is good right now. I'm going to miss the Doctor, though. He really is a good man. He deserves so much more than he's been given. Humans and their awful treatment to good people.

"So, now what?" I ask, clapping my hands together.

"Beats me." Niall says, letting air through his teeth.

Sarah wraps her arms around Niall's waist and nuzzles into his side. "My fiancé and I had plans to go home. Maybe we'll just curl up in bed and sleep or watch some TV. I just want some peace and quiet with the man I love. It's been a long week and I want a break."

Niall smiles. "You have the best ideas.

We laugh.

"Anyone want to give me a lift home?" Felix asks.

I smile and shake the Vortex Manipulator on my wrist. "Sure thing, bud."

"We'll see you soon, right?" Sarah says timidly.

My smile widens. "Of course! We're friends, aren't we?"

She smiles back at me. She really is pretty. I've never really liked any girl before, but she's beautiful. If only she weren't taken. Niall's a really lucky chap.

"Well then, I guess we'll go inside, and see you later, okay?" She says.

I touch her shoulder, trying so hard to ignore the rush I get. "Sure."

She hugs me. "Bye Olly."

I force myself to hug her back, even though it does so many things to me. The feeling could shoot an arrow through any man's heart. "Bye, small fry."

She giggles, which melts my heart. She let's go and then grips Niall's hand in her own. As they walk up the driveway, they turn to wave. I wave back without meaning to. My arm just keeps moving unwillingly. I feel like a puppet.

All because I'm in love with the girl I can never have.
