“My love, my life, the most beautiful girl to be my wife.” I say to my fiancée.
Sarah giggles. “Oh well, I love you too, beautiful husband-to-be of mine.” She stretches on her toes to kiss me. Her lips are soft. They fit together with mine so well.
I lift her up so her legs go around my waist. I’ve known her only a month, but the feelings for her are strong, intense, crazy. Many words fill my mind when I think of her. She is it. I will never love anyone else. She is my life.
She nuzzles into my neck and pecks at it with her lips. Shivers run down my spine. She’s so attractive with her body entwined with mine. It does things to me.
“Not happening, Ni.” Sarah says in a sing-song voice.
“What? I didn’t say anything.”
“No, but you thought it. You can’t think dirty things like that. I don’t want to feel you against me in that way. Not yet at least.”
I grin and kiss her temple. “I’m sorry, Princess. It’s not my fault you’re so hot.
She laughs. “I’m hot and you’re hard?”
I nod. “Yeah, pretty much.”
Then things turn serious. “Do you love me?”
I hold her closer to me. “Of course I do. How could you ever see otherwise?”
She sniffles. Oh God. No. No. No! “Oh baby, don’t cry. Please don’t cry. I’m sorry I upset you. Don’t cry.”
I set her down on the couch and look at her. Her eyes are bloodshot, which makes me distraught. I’ve hurt her so much. I just feel that I’m doing everything wrong. I cup her chin in my hands. “If you’re questioning my love for you because of one thing that happened to my body…I’m a guy, Sarah, you have to understand that. These things just happen. Not because I want them to happen to me but because I’m a male. I can’t help that I’m marrying a beautiful girl and that I love her enough to want to share something intimate like that with her. I. Love. You. For. You. Not. For. Sex. If I wanted you for sex, I’d have made a pass at you a long time ago. And if I didn’t truly love you, I wouldn’t have fought for you like I did. I’m crazy about you. Literally. I would kill a man to prove that. Or die for you. What more do I have to do?”
She smiles and ruffles my hair. “Now do you feel my frustration?”
“You did this to prove a point, didn’t you?”
She nods. “Of course. You deserve to know that that’s exactly how I felt. I’ve tried to prove my love for you endless times but you were blind. Blinded by jealousy. Well maybe I wanted to show you the same concept but through something else.”
I frown as I stand straight up and stare down at Sarah. “You had me worried there.”
She stands to hug me. “Don’t ever worry. I love you, you love me…that’s all we need, right?”
I smile. “Yeah, it is.”
“Good. I’m glad we understand each other. That means we’re making progress. Soon we’ll be the perfect couple.”
And all I can focus on is how I know we’re going to be together. Forever.
