“The Doctor! Oh goodness, where did he go? Was that his scream?” Sarah sounds frantic.
Can’t a man ever just go home and cuddle with his beautiful fiancée? I mean seriously? It’s starting to get on my nerves actually. I got engaged to her not her group of friends. I mean, yeah, they’re my friends as well, but I wish I could be around some normal people for once. Sarah’s immortal. That’s not normal. Kyle can travel through space with his mind and can also hear everything you think about and can see into the future. Not normal. Felix is a pumpkin man made of different elements. Not normal. Then there’s the Doctor who has a box that’s bigger on the inside and can become a new man, do I really have to continue? He is definitely not normal. None of the people I know are normal. Except me. I have no powers no hidden talents. No dark tales to tell. I’m just a boy from Ireland who is only famous because he can play guitar and sing. I also have a knack for acting. Other than that, I honestly have nothing to show for. I’m nothing special.
“Yes, you are. You’re special to the girl you’re marrying.” Kyle interrupts my thought with his pretentious abilities to read minds. Why can’t I have a cool power like him?
“But I’m not. I’m no superhero.” I turn to my fiancée. “Why did you pick me, Sarah when you could have a really cool guy who can fly or is a wizard? Why not be with Oliver?” I ask her.
She gets this hurt look in her eyes. Shit. I don’t like that look. Her arms slither around my waist. “Because Oliver isn’t you. If he isn’t Niall James Horan, then I don’t want him. You’re my superhero, Ni. I don’t love you for your ‘powers’ or abilities or fame or fortune. I love you for you. Not for anything else.” She nuzzles into my neck and gives it a few little kisses. Her perfume smells of That Moment. No matter what, she always supports every single thing I do. She’s been to my screenings for One Direction related things, she buys my merchandise, she went to most of my concerts and her feelings for me never change. She only loves me more. And I only love her that much more in return.
“The Doctor,” I whisper. “Sarah, we have to find out if he’s okay. He could be in danger.”
“So we go on an adventure and find him.” She kisses my jaw line.
“Then Geronimo.” Are the last words I ever remember saying.
