Journey to Hogwarts (Harry x Reader)

I thought since this is my first one shot I might as well use the main character. This takes place at the beginning of first year when everyone is on their way to Hogwarts. Hope you enjoy!

Your POV

As we came to Platform 9 3/4 my parents gave me a gigantic bear hug like I was about to die. After a minute or two they let go and beamed at me. "We are so proud of you Y/N!" "Thanks Dad! I'm so excited!" "You're going to love it there, and I'm sure you're going to make spectacular friends," my mom says before kissing my cheek. My mom and dad went to Hogwarts, my mom was in Hufflepuff and my dad was in Griffindor. I gave them one final hug and waved as they left.

While I was making sure I had everything and that I was ready, I saw a boy my age looking extremely confused, he was kind of cute. He tries to ask for directions to Platform 9 3/4, I know because of his cart. The guard left annoyed and the boy looked worried.

I walked up to the boy and asked, "Are you looking for Platform 9 3/4?" "Yes actually I was starting to get worried that it wasn't here." "Don't worry its jus hidden. Its the wall between platform 9 and 10. " "I'm Harry by the way, Harry Potter." "Wow you're the Harry Potter?! I'm Y/N, L/N." I extend my hand and Harry shakes it.

We walk over to the wall and a big red-headed family joins us. "Are you first years?" asks the mom of the bunch. "Yes ma'am." I say remembering my manners. "So is ma boy Ron." We look at Ron and he gives us a small smile. "Now its better if you get a head start running if ya scared. Go ahead Ron." Harry and I watched a bit scared for Ron as he runs toward the wall. I may have known about the platform but I was still a bit frightened. Harry and I expected to hear a crash, but instead Ron goes straight through the wall as if it was air. We couldn't help but smile. "See you on the other side Y/N!" Harry gets a head start and runs through the wall. "My turn." I run at the wall still a bit scared but I end up standing beside a huge train. I spot Harry waiting for me and than I walk over with him to the train. We give a man our bags and we go to a compartment.

Harry and I were talking all about how we were so excited to see Hogwarts, when a familiar red head opened the compartment door and poked his head in. "Mind if I join you ? Everywhere else is full." Harry looks at you and you say, "Sure." The rest of the ride was great Harry bought the whole candy cart and we met a girl our age named Hermione as Ron was about to do a spell on his rat, Scabbers. Hermione was helping a boy named Neville look for his lost toad. When Ron didn't perform the spell right, or that it wasn't a real spell, Hermione showed us a spell that she used to fix Harry's glasses. The look on her face when she saw Harry was priceless, shocked and happy. She also reminded us to get our robes on as we were close to Hogwarts.

Once you arrived at Hogwarts all of the first years piled into boats, and we met Hagrid Harry's friend. Harry and Ron had gotten into a boat and were waving me over to join them. Me being my clumsy self, ran over to the boat, tripped on air and fell. Luckily, Harry saw me falling and caught me in his arms. No so lucky I was blushing like crazy as we looked into each other's eyes. "T-Thanks Harry." "N-No problem." You sat down on the opposite side of Harry and Ron. Ron gave Harry a thumbs up and you swear you heard him say, "Nice going mate, she literally fell for you."

After an unpleasant encounter with Malfoy, you heard Professor McGonagal say her speech about being sorted. Than everyone was just huddled together in a mass clump talking to people nearby. Ron and Harry were on your right and Hermione was on your left. "What house do you want to be sorted in Y/N?" Harry asks as he turns to you. "I'm really okay with any house! As long as it is the right one for me," you say laughing. Then before you knew it, it was time for everyone to be sorted. You zoned most names out but the people you knew you listened to.

Malfoy, Draco, Slytherin!

Granger, Hermione, Gryffindor!

Ron groaned as he didn't like Hermione and the feeling was mutual.

Weasly, Ron, Gryffindor!

Potter, Harry, ...

Everyone in the room was watching hoping to have the famous Harry Potter in their house.

Gryffindor!

The Gryffindor table was wild! It was one of the loudest shouts you ever heard.

L/N, Y/N

Than it was my turn, I walked to the stool, nervous. I glanced at the Gryffindor table and Harry smiled at me giving me a thumbs up. I sit down on the stool and the Sorting Hat is placed on my head.

"Ah, a L/N. I sorted both of your parents. Both wonderful people. Let's see, your ambition outweighs those of most, intelligence beyond compare, loyal to those close to you, and the courage of a knight. Hmmm.... well, it better be.............

H/N!

The Sorting Hat was taken of my head and I see all of my friends shouting like crazy, especially Harry! I walk over to the H/N table and sit down next to a prefect, smiling like crazy. I glance back to the three Gryffindors only to see them all giving a thumbs up.

This is going to be a great year!
