I look at my watch and my eyes widen. "Oh no. Not again!" I rush from the Hufflepuff common room into my room and quickly grab my books before stuffing them in my bag. "Why do I always lose track of time?" I quickly go down the stairs and out the tunnel entrance. "Now I'm going to be late again!" I run through the corridors and grasp my bag tightly with one arm.

As I turn a corner toward potions I collide with someone's back. Which causes me to fall on my face and my books to be scattered. I quickly push myself up and look at the person. "I'm so sorry Seamus! I was in a rush," I say slightly blushing. "It's alright Y/N," Seamus says chuckling. I begin to collect my books and Seamus hands me one. "Thank you." I stand up and Seamus follows. "We really should be going. Once again I'm sorry," I say before running toward the potions classroom.

I get inside the classroom and take a seat in the middle by my friend Liam. I see Seamus walk in as class starts.  "Phew," I say letting out a breath. "Made it!" I begin to arrange my books as Professor Snape calls role. Wait, I'm missing one. I look at my books once more. Dang it! I must have left my potions book in the corridor. "Ms. L/N?" "Oh here!" Professor Snape continues role call and I mentally face palm. If only I could manage my time better.

I look at the board and see that we're making Amortencia. That's the strongest love potion in existence. Of course it doesn't actually make someone truly love you; nothing can do that, and for a good reason.

Once done with role call Snape begins to partner up students. "Mr. Potter and Miss Bones." Susan shyly looks away when Harry joins her; of course Harry is oblivious to this fact. That girl has got it bad. Harry does however shift uncomfortably when Susan stares at him dreamily, obviously hating the unwanted attention.

"Mr. Weasely and Miss Williams." Lian, a blue eyed Hufflepuff with a scratch on her left cheek,  joins an awkward Ron at his table. I've met Lian a few times; she's very caring and reminds you of a mother, protective nature and all. By the looks of it, Ron seems frightened by the brown haired girl. Must be the scratch on her cheek; it usually gives off the wrong impression. Ron's eyes keep wandering to Lian's scratch.

"Mr. Arwin and Miss Granger." Hermione quietly groans and Liam frowns and pushes up his orange glasses. Both Hermione and Liam hate to be partnered up. Hermione hates that the short reddish-brown haired Hufflepuff hardly talks, and basically ignores her; Liam hates being paired with someone who constantly tries to correct him (he's not the best potioneer). I send Liam a sad smile as he walks away from me to reach Hermione's table. His green eyes show signs of annoyance.

"Mr. Simpson and Miss Scott." Alondra looks at me worriedly; her eyes give away the fact she's in love with the short Hufflepuff. Alondra's hazel eyes meet Tommy's brown eyes. She whips around as he gathers his things and starts twirling her brown curly hair (something she never fails to do when nervous). "W-What do I d-do?" "Deep breaths Al, deep breaths."

The tall girl takes some deep breaths and folds her arms across her Hufflepuff uniform as Tommy joins her. "H-Hey T-Tommy!" "Hello Alondra," Tommy answers while awkwardly ruffling his brown spiky hair. I smirk knowingly. Sitting next to Alondra, Tommy's shortness shows, with Al being only a few inches taller. I watch in amusement as the two shy Hufflepuffs blush. My OTP is real. The ship is sailing!

Snape pulls me out of my thoughts with another group announcement. "Mr. Finnegan and Miss L/N." I look behind me and make eye contact with Seamus. He smiles while gathering his things and I return the smile. My thoughts drown out Snape's announcements of pairs. Hopefully this isn't awkward. I did run into him and almost made him late.

Seamus sits beside me and places his bag and books down in front of him. I slide my books to the side for more working space and Seamus does the same. Oh crap, we'll need our books. Maybe Seamus and I can share his book.

"Turn to the chapter on Amortencia. You have till the end of class." As Seamus opens his book I turn to him. "I left my book in the hallway, can we share?" Seamus opens his mouth to respond before a thought hits him. "I completely forgot! I picked up ya book!" Seamus reaches inside his bag and pulls out my book. "Here ya go." "Your a lifesaver Seamus." I take the book and turn to the chapter on Amortencia, unknowing of the smile on Seamus' face while watching me.

~After the Potion is Created~

"Okay I think that should do it," I say examining the potion. "Good thing too, we only got five minutes left." I nod and place down the ladle I was using to stir the potion. "Thank Merlin we finished; I thought once I blew up the first and second attempt we were doomed." I chuckle before saying, "Well if it makes you feel better I knocked over the third attempt." I smirk remembering how it blew up in our faces during attempt one and two. Seamus kept apologizing but I simply laughed. "I guess we just have to smell it now. You can go first Seamus."  "No can do, ladies first." I smile at Seamus' gentlemen manner.

I lean toward potion and deeply breathe in. New books... morning dew.... a fire's smoke... and lilac. "Well?" "I smell new books, morning dew, smoke from a fire, and lilac. To be honest I was expecting the lilac; they're my favorite flower in the Hufflepuff common room. Sometimes I think I smell like lilacs." "Neat. Okay, me turn."

I pull back to from the cauldron and let Seamus lean forward. He deeply breaths in and his face concentrates; then his eyes widen and he blushes before pulling back. "What did you smell?" "Uh-um...the wood from a broom, freshly mowed grass, a cracklin fire, and uh... a flower that I forget the name of." I nod but notice that he doesn't seem to be telling the whole truth.

"Time is up. Turn in your potions with your names attached." I ladle a sample of potion into a vial. I tear a corner from my parchment and take out a quill. I dip the quill before writing my name. I hand the quill to Seamus and he does the same. I take a bit of string and attach the parchment to the potion. "There we go. Now we just need to turn it in." We both stand up and walk over to Snape's desk together.

Before I can place the vial down I trip over a bag on the floor. I fall onto my face and take someone down with me. When I open my eyes I see Liam on his back beside me. "Sorry Liam!" "It's alright Y/N." Liam stands up and extends his hand to me. I except it and he pulls me up. Someone grabs a hold of my arm and I turn to see Seamus while Liam walks away to turn in Hermione and his' potion. "Are ya okay?" "I'm okay. Thanks for asking." Seamus nods and I make sure the potion is undamaged. "Maybe you should turn it in? I almost broke it just now." "Will do." Seamus turns in the vial and I go back to our table.

I see Seamus' books and supplies scattered and the Hufflepuff in me takes over. I stack up his books, put the lid on his ink, pick up his quill and put them in his bag. Happy with my work I begin to pack up myself, careful to not knock over any of my ink. That's happened on several occasions and its never clean. The ink soaks into some of my books and bag. Thankfully Professor Sprout happily helps me out on such an occasion.

Seamus comes back and sees his bag packed. "Did ya pack up me stuff?" "Well I thought it would be helpful." Seamus smiles and puts his bag strap on his shoulder. "Thanks." "No problem." "Ya know, ya truly embody a Hufflepuff." "Really?" "Definitely. Kindness... Friendship... Hard working." I blush and pick up my bag. "Thanks Seamus." "Anytime."

When exiting the room my friend fromm Ravenclaw, Olivia, appears. "I can't believe that Trelawney woman! 'Although your eagerness to learn is bright, you do not understand a Seer's ability.' I'm dropping that class as soon as possible." "Nice to see you too." "Right, sorry Y/N. Hi." I laugh and my smile before doesn't falter in the slightest. "What are you so happy about," Olivia asks suspiciously. "Nothing." Olivia's eyes widen. "Who's the boy and does he treat you right?" I stop in steps and look around the deserted hallway. "Seamus Finnegan, and he's a gentleman." "The Irish boy you always talk about?" "Yep." "That leprechaun better treat you right."

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far! I thought I would post this to start off your weekend. You have no idea the trouble I had trying not to make the reader a stereotype. I don't think I did a great job; I make change some details later on. What do you guys think? Did I do a good job?

Have a blessed day Fantasizers! ~Aqua
