As I walk down the stairs toward the common room laughter fills my ears. I look up from my book on Transfiguration to see the Marauders sitting by the fire. I slightly smile at the sight, they never were separated. I look back at my book as I continue to walk down the stairs. Once at the bottom I hear my name being called. "Y/N!" I snap my head up to look at the boy. "Yes James?" "Tell them I'm right." "About what," I question while furrowing my eyebrows. "Deer are more loyal than dogs." I make a questioning face at the odd question. "I'm not going to even ask how that came up." I snap my book shut and walk toward the group. "I have no clue. But if you mean that dog," I point to Sirius, "than I'd say deer." The boys look at each other with wide eyes and I shrug. "Bye guys." I walk toward the portrait with my book in hand. Before I'm fully out of the portrait I hear Sirius whisper. "Do you think she knows?" "I hope not," I hear Remus reply. I think nothing of the conversation and close the portrait.

Night came I as sat in the common room with my book curled up by the fire. I look up to check the clock hanging on the wall (which I've been doing all night) and smile. Its time. I place my book on the coffee table and reach under the cushions of the couch to pull out my black cloak. I stand up and quietly listen for any signs of awakened students. A small smile follows the silence I hear (except for some students' snores). I slip on my cloak and flip the hood on before heading out of the portrait; all the while the fat lady watches me slightly irritated ( the fat lady learned long ago that she couldn't stop me). "I don't know why you keep sneaking out." "That... is my little secret." "No wonder you're friends with those Marauder boys." I slightly laugh before dashing off with my cloak thrashing around behind me, making almost no sound (I'm quite light on my feet if I do say so myself).

I quickly run out of the castle being unable to stand the anticipation. I've been waiting all week to be able to transform. I slow down when I near the Forbidden Forest. I cautiously look around before briskly entering. I discard my cloak and deeply inhale before exhaling. I transform and open my eyes. The world of course looks different in doe vision, but I'm used to it. I love being an animagus. Its not my first time sneaking out to the Forbidden Forest seeking freedom. I begin to sprint away toward my favorite spot.

The next hour flew by. I pranced around admiring the forest's beauty. Students and even some teachers fear the forest but as long as you're cautious the other inhabitants will leave you be. There are some creatures which used to try to harm me, but after showing I showed no threat they left me alone. Then there are the kind spirited creatures that usually greet me upon seeing me. Every week I join a group of unicorns to explore the forest. Today they showed me a pasture of mysterious flowers, dangerous but also useful in advance potions. During my time in the forest I also usually sit by a creek with some centaurs. Centaurs always remind me of wizards and their concerns about blood. Some say that humans shouldn't be graced with their presence while others happily befriend humans.

Realizing how late it is I begin to walk in the direction of the castle with a sad sigh. However, I stop in my tracks when I hear voices heading in my direction. I hide behind a large tree and slightly peer at the group. Oh no. Standing a few feet from me are the famous group of Marauders holding what looks like a folded up map. "Tell me again why we're wandering in the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night," Remus asks irritated. James rolls his eyes. "I saw Y/N sneaking out again on the map." Map? What map? "It said she wandered into the forest and I'm curious. Why has she been sneaking to here so often?" My heart slightly drops. Please don't find out. "Aww, is Prongs worried about his love," Sirius asks annoyingly. "Shut up." I slightly blush and try to sneak away only to have a twig snap under my hoof. "W-What was that," Peter asks shakily. The boys become extremely quiet. I decide a normal doe wouldn't hide behind a tree. I slowly walk out and pretend to ignore the boys even though I can feel their eyes on me. I sniff the ground and then look at the boys. Peter releases a breathe. Sirius begins to laugh and I look at them questioningly. "We were scared of a harmless doe?!" James tries to hold back a laugh. Remus simply rolls his eyes. Peter looks ashamed. Suddenly the all too familiar mischievous glint returns to Sirius' eyes. "Maybe the deer will love you Prongs." James shoots him a glare before looking back at me. "Your going to think I'm mental but the doe seems familiar." "Jamsie I think you're losing it mate." Remus looks at me as well. "No, he's right she does seem familiar. Her eyes to be exact." All four Marauders are looking at me now. "Maybe we can get closer and figure it out," Peter suggests. I should probably leave now. James pockets the map and begins to slowly walk toward me. Yep. Definitely need to leave. James reaches his hand toward me and I begin to back up. "We're not going to hurt you little doe," James says quietly. Before James touches me I sprint away. My heart is pounding.

Once I'm sure the boys didn't follow me I hide behind a tree and take a deep breathe before transforming. "That was a close one." I peer around the tree and no one is in sight. I observe my surroundings trying to analyze where I am. I'm pretty close to the edge of the forest. I quietly make my way toward my previously forgotten and discarded cloak. I fling it on and flip up the hood. I hear voices approaching and begin to quietly think aloud. "If I run away they'll hear me. But if I cast an invisibly charm I can stay invisible long enough to escape." Happy about my decision I pull out my wand and cast the charm. The next second all four Marauders appear while discussing. "Looks like your charms didn't work Prongs. Even the doe won't love you." James scoffs. "Even so Padfoot, I got a good look at the doe's eyes." Remus looks up at him questioningly. "Well what did you come up with?" "The doe's eyes, they're exactly like Y/N's, e/c with spec of f/c." Sirius and Peter each share a confused face while Remus seems lost in thought. "What are you thinking about Moony," Sirius asks with a raised eyebrow. "It seems like a long shot, but what if... Y/N is like us. What if she's an animagus?" Oh Godric no! James and Sirius's faces light up. "Do you really think so?!" Remus rolls his eyes at the overexcited boys. "I'm not sure. Don't keep your hopes up." Wait a second, I'm almost out of time! I pull my attention from the conversation and begin to creep away. When I'm almost out of ear shot a twig snaps under my pressure. The boys whip their heads in my direction. Dang you twigs! I bolt away ignoring all hope of sneaking away. Several pairs of footsteps run after me. "Come on!" "Quick this way!" "We need to catch up!" As I exit the forest I feel the charm warring off. All I wanted to do was have a peaceful night, but no! The charm wears off as I near the entrance into the castle. Come on! "They're up there!" "Hurry, come on!"

I come to the fat lady's portrait. "Quidditch," I say out of breathe. She opens the portrait with a roll of her eyes and I dash inside. I sprint up to my dorm hearing voices out side of the portrait and close my door softly. I slide down the door breathing heavily. "Wait. they have a map knowing where I go." I get up and pull the covers of my bed off. Remembering my cloak I take it off and hide it under my bed. I hop into bed, pull the covers up, and turn away from the door. Whispers from the other side of my door make their way to my ears. "H-How are they so f-fast." "I need to s-sit down." "Do you think it was Y-Y/N?" "I have n-no idea." I breathe a sigh of relief and let sleep consume. I'm safe.
