Second Trial Part 2 (Cedric x Reader)

Your POV

The next time I wake up I'm in the hospital wing lying in one of the beds. The first thing I see is Cedric sleeping in a chair beside my bed. He must have stayed by me while I've been here, he's so sweet. I reach out my arm and lightly shake his leg. "Ced c'mon, wake up." Cedric slowly opens his eyes and they become wide when he sees me. "Y/N you're awake!" he says beaming. The next thing I know I'm being tackled in a hug. "I'm so glad you're okay when I saw you floating in the lake I thought my heart stopped." "I was floating in the lake?" Ced pulls away. "Oh right, you probably don't know what happened. Well, for the second trial we had to retrieve something that was dear to us, but it turned out it wasn't a something it was a someone, you were the someone dear to me." I could feel my face heat up a bit and I saw Cedric's face was also slightly pink. "So you saved me?" "Yeah, I hope you don't mind." he said awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. I couldn't help but smile. "Why would I mind? My best friend since forever honored me by giving me the title of 'Someone Dearest to Me' and saved me from appending doom. Yes, my knight and shining armor, I do mind." I say the last part sarcastically. We both laugh our heads off and than smile at each other. "Don't ever worry me like that again Y/N." "I'll try but it's pretty fun to see how much you worry about me." Cedric's face becomes pink and he frowns at you. "Oh shut up." "How long have I been out?" "Uh... two days." "Two days? Snape's going to bury me alive with homework." For the rest of the day Cedric and I just talked and laughed until it was time for bed, when Madam Pomfrey told Ced he had to leave so I could get some rest.

The next morning Madam Pomfrey woke me up and gave me clothes to change into. She said I was good to go and that I should go to breakfast. On my way down to the great hall, I couldn't stop thinking about how I missed hanging out with my friends, especially Ced. He has always been there for me, and I will always be there for him, even if he doesn't return my feelings. But, ever since I found out I was "someone dearest to him" I can't help but wonder if he feels the same way.

When I walk into the great hall everyone stops talking and looks at me. I feel quite uncomfortable and I walk to the Hufflepuff table awkwardly. As I approach the table all of my house friends engulf me in a bear hug. "Y/N we missed you!" "We were so worried!" "So... you and Ced?" After I could finally breathe again, I walked over to my usual spot, beside Cedric. He put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him. "Welcome back Y/N." I could here whispers from the quiet room. "They're totally going to start dating! I ship them." "Totally relationship goals! Awww they're so cute!" "I don't think anyone was shocked when Cedric saved Y/N, except for people who don't know them." I look at Cedric and smile. "Thanks Ced." Than everyone went back to talking and minding their own business.

Our breakfast was pretty normal, except when she came in the great hall. Cho. I wanted to punch her so bad every time I saw her smug face, but I kept reminding myself not to because it wasn't a good idea and she was Cedric's friend. She walks over to our table with a smirk. "Hi Ced." She did not just use my nickname for Cedric. Keep calm Y/N, breathe, just think about Ced. Cho walks behind me and pushes me on the floor, taking my seat. Ced looks pretty pissed but I know he is trying not to show it. "Whoops, sorry L/N." she says with fake sympathy. The whole school looks in our direction wondering where all the commotion is coming from. Breathe, breathe. "I don't know why you talk to her Ced. She's such a loser." As much as I hate Cho her words never cease to hurt me. Tears threaten my eyes while I lay on the ground looking down. I look at Cedric and he has fire in his eyes. "She's nothing more than a mudblood." Tears start to fall from my face and soon they start streaming followed with sobs. Cho looks down a me with a smirk pleased with her work. Cedric on the other hand stands up glaring at Cho and stands above me. He gets down on my level and tries to comfort me. I abruptly stand up while continuing to sob and run out of the great hall. "Y/N, wait!" I run down some corridors and into the girls bathroom. I walk into a stall shut the door, lock it and slide down the door until I hit the floor. The only thing I can do right now is sob into my knees and hope Cho disappears.

I hear the girls bathroom door open and someone walk in. "Myrtle do you know where Y/N is?" "She's in that stall over there." I can't see which stall she is pointing to but I assume it's the one I'm in. Someone knocks on my stall door and I look up from my fetal position. "Who is...it?" I ask between sobs. "Hermione." "What do you want?" "Can we talk?" I stand up and unlock the door opening it with bloodshot eyes. "Oh Y/N." she says with sympathy in her voice. She pulls me into a hug and comforts me. She has always been a friend to me even if we don't know each other too well. I cry into her shoulder and she lets me while rubbing circles on my back. "It's okay Y/N. Cho is a jerk, don't believe a word she says. I've been called a mudblood too but it's not true, you are a wonderful person, I promise." I let go of her and face her wiping tears off my face. "Thanks 'Mione." "No problem. I thought you could use some cheering up." "Well you definitely helped me." "I knew Cho was bad, but I didn't know she was that bad." "I did, she has always been like that to me, but today she went too far." I told Hermione everything, about how she hated me because of me being best friends with Cedric, her bulling me, verbally and physically, and how she kept threatening me. "Oh my gosh Y/N I had no idea." "It's okay 'Mione, I feel better telling you." Let's just say me and Hermione are good friends now. Me and Hermione talked and walked out of the bathroom together. When we walked out of the door I see Cedric pacing back and forth in the corridor talking to himself. "I hate Cho... I can't believe... what do I do... Y/N crying..." obviously not seeing us. Me and Hermione look at each other than laugh silently. Hermione winks at me and walks off. I'm pretty sure I saw her fangirling as she walked away. I cough on purpose and Cedric whirls around facing me. "Y/N!" He walks up to me. "I'm so sorry I should have stopped Cho but I didn't want to-" "Ced. It's okay now." "It's not okay! My best friend got hurt really bad and I didn't stop it! Are you ok-" I stop Cedric by hugging him and he slowly wraps his arms around me, because I'm shorter than him my head rests on his chest. I want to cry again but I keep myself together. "You can cry if you want to. " Ced knows me too well. I cry a little into his chest and he holds me tighter resting his head on mine. "I know it hurts, but I'm here for you." After a minute or two I let go and stand back a bit, I look into Cedric's eyes and looks into mine, than he looks at my lips. Cedric moves closer than wraps his arms around my waist and smashes his lips onto mine. I was a little surprised but extremely ecstatic. Our lips moved in sync and fireworks were going off like it was the fourth of July. We pulled apart gasping for air and looked deeply into each other's eyes. "I've been wanting to do that since 3rd year." he says not straying from my eyes. "Me too, I couldn't be happier." "So... are we a 'thing.'" "If you want to be." I say smiling. "So do you want to be my girlfriend?" "Of course you big idiot!" Cedric smiles at me and leans in for another kiss. This kiss was a quick one and we were both smiling. Than we heard a click, I turn around to see Hermione with a camera hiding behind the corner and Harry and Ron are behind her. I also see Cho looking furious with two Ravenclaw girls beside her looking the same way, only they don't have the death glare. "I'll be right back I have to do something." I say with a mischievous smile. "What are you going to do?" he asks with sly smile. "Nothing that is fatal." I walk over to Cho and her gang. "Hey Cho. Sorry to disappoint you but I won't be taking your crap anymore. Hope you actually become a nice person." Cho really wants to tear my head off right now. I take out my wand and point it at Cho. "Patrificus Totalis." (For those who don't know this is the spell Hermione uses to make Neville become completely stiff in the first book/movie.) Cho falls to the ground with a thud and her friends freak out. I turn to Cedric who's grinning from ear to ear and wink at him. Than I walk away to finish up homework in the library.

Today couldn't be better.
