Owl Helper (Draco x Reader)

Hey guys so a little background info is that this takes place in the first book/movie when Harry and Draco find Quirrel/Voldemort and Draco runs away. Also you're an animagus. I came up with this idea when @Pastel_Doll8 requested a Draco fluff one shot. I will release a 2nd part soon.

Tonight I was flying around the castle with the wind blowing against my feathers. I shift my wings and head toward the Forbidden Forest. I'm an animagus, I can turn into an owl, and have been for about a year. The ministry doesn't know about me but I don't care, I like it. A few months after I became an animagus I received my Hogwarts letter and my parents were ecstatic. My parents both went to Hogwarts. My dad is a pureblood while my mom is muggle born.

As I fly above the trees of the forest I hear a scream not too far from me so I land on a branch. "AHHHH!" Then I hear someone run in my direction and I can see a little light coming with them. Finally, the person is right below me and is panting out of breathe. I hop from my branch and quietly fly down behind a tree before I transform back to my normal self. I peer around the tree with one eye and my hair down a little bit in my eyes. The person was a boy my age who I recognized as Draco Malfoy, one of the biggest bullies at Hogwarts. "Great! Now I'm lost. At least I have Fang." Draco turns around and Fang isn't there. "Isn't that just perfect!? I lost Fang and I'm lost myself!" he sighs and looks in my direction. My eyes widen as they make contact with his then I whip back behind the tree. "Who's there?" he asks with a little bit of fear and anger. I turn into my owl self and walk to the front of the tree. "Oh, its just an owl." he says exhaling. I fly onto his shoulder as he flinches by my sudden action. "Merlin, you almost gave me a heart attack!" he says. "I don't suppose you know the way out of here do you?" he says stroking my feathers gently. I don't why Draco is being kind to me but I like this side of him. I hoot as though I was saying "Yes" and fly in front of him to which he smiles at me. I fly a few inches forward and turn to him bucking my head forward. Draco smiles at me and walks after me as I fly slowly toward Hagrid's hut.

After a few minutes of walking Draco and I make it out of the woods and are standing close to Hagrid's hut. I fly over and land on Draco's shoulder as he smiles at me and he strokes my feathers gently. "Thank you." Draco then walks over to Hagrid's hut where Hagrid and the golden trio, also know as my best friends, are standing, me still on his shoulder. "Malfoy 'ere you been? I been lookin' al' o'er for ya." "I got lost but this owl helped me." he says in his usual snarky tone. "Wow that's an awesome owl!" Ron said with wide eyes looking at me. I flew off of Draco's shoulder and hovered in air. "Do you think I could keep it? Everything I own is rubbish." he said frowning. "That's no 'ay to treat a wil' creature Ron." Hagrid says scolding Ron. "Wild animals are meant to stay in the wild Ron." Hermione says looking at me while Draco scowls at them. If only they knew it was me. No one knew I was an animagus so I could only imagine the look on Harry, Ron, and Hermione's faces. I land back on Draco's shoulder and he barely smiles. I think Draco likes that someone is being nice to him. "I think sh' taken a likin' to ya Malfoy." Hagrid says looking at us. "Whatever." Draco says harshly. Then Hagrid led all of us back to the castle.

When we walked into the castle the trio walks back to the Gryffindor common room but Malfoy stays under the canopy while stroking my feathers. "I'll be honesty I want to keep you too, but that oaf is right." I felt myself smiling even though it was most likely that my smile wasn't visible in my owl form. I hoot and nibble Draco's ear to show him that I appreciated that he cared about me. "Y'know no one has ever really been nice to me, except for my mom. Not my dad, not Crabbe and Goyle, they just fear me, and not Pansy, she just annoys me. Even animals usually hate me, except you, thanks." I hoot to say "Your welcome" and then I fly onto the ground. "You have to go don't you?" Draco asks looking sad. I hoot one last time before I fly into the air and turn to Draco. "Bye." he says smiling. Then I fly into the air and toward Gryffindor tower where I land on the window seal of the room that Hermione, me, and other girls in our year sleep. I change back into a human and hop into bed like lightning just as Hermione opens the door and goes to her bed.
