~Jimin's POV~
"From tomorrow onwards you will be working with Dr Chan-"
"What happened to Dr Choi?" I rudely cut my father off. After what had happened before, I felt like Dr Choi and I would have a much stronger connection. Give it a few weeks, or maybe even days.
"I thought you didn't like her," he responded, voice as stiff as a board.
It wasn't that I didn't like Dr Choi. She was an extremely intelligent doctor who just so happened to have more bad moods than good ones. I was sure we would warm up to each other, and that I could learn plenty from her.
I thought I was finally beginning to understand her, especially after what happened yesterday. I thought hard about what I was about to say to my father next. Would I regret making that decision?
"Father, I have decided that I will be working with Dr Choi," I announced with no hesitation. No doubt.
"W-what?" he stammered after hearing my words, but recovered quick. He slammed his palms onto the desk, and I locked his gaze, not flinching. "Jimin, are you serious? You know how she is, she's-"
"Father, it's going to be alright," I reassure. "If anything goes wrong, I'll let you know," I added before turning to exit.
"Jimin-ah, are you coming home tonight? Your mother's been waiting," his voice echoed from wall to wall, entering through one ear and out the other. A dark gaze crossed my expression, memories pulled to the front of my mind that I wanted to remain deep in its recesses. I didn't want to talk about my mother, ever.
"I'm not planning to," I say, allowing a harsh tone to lace my voice. "I never plan to come home," I assured again for emphasis, and slammed the door behind me quite harshly.
"Isn't that the CEO's son?" I heard a group of people immediately whisper as I exit. How did they know? I started to walk down the hallway, away from the gossip.
"Dr Park?" I heard a female's voice calling from behind me. I looked over my shoulder and saw a doctor approaching me.
She looked shorter than Dr Choi, but seemed to carry herself taller. Her head was perked up, and her hair was long and thick, pulled back in a ponytail. Her dark brown eyes matched her hair, and were big and doe-like. Long lashes were curled upwards, making her eyes stand out even more. She walked as if on a catwalk, slow and elegantly.
Was she talking to me?
"Y-yes?" I stammered, confused as to why she suddenly approached me.
"I'm Dr Chan, nice to meet you," she smiled sweetly, and extended a hand for me to shake.
Dr Chan... so she's the doctor father was talking about.
"I'm Dr Park. Nice to meet you too," I shook her hand, a smile spreading across my face.
"Have you heard from the CEO that you will be working with me starting from tomorrow?" she asked in a sugary sweet voice. It was annoying. Why did father even choose her? I'm so glad I told him I would rather work with Dr Choi.
"Umm yeah, father did mention you," I wondered how to break the news to her, "but I'll be working will Dr Choi." I finished, thinking it best to be blunt. I smiled, and bowed to her before walking away.
Was that rude? Nah.
~Hye Jin's POV~
'I can't believe I did that, I can't believe I did that,' was on repeat in my mind, playing back yesterday's events. True, it had stopped Dr Lee from following me, but was it worth the embarrassment? I sat at my desk, head buried in my clammy palms, regretting... everything.
