~Author's Note~

I have decided to make this set in the future (not telling you what year or else you'll find out about Jimin 😂)

~Hye Jin's POV~

Beep. Beep.

The monitor started beeping again. I closed my eyes, and let out a breath of relief.

"We saved her," Dr Lee beamed, telling us what we all already knew but were still dying to hear. The other doctors and nurses in the room grinned as well, except for me...

"I saved her," I emphasised the 'I', and put the tools down with a clank, leaving the nurses to wash and organise them properly. I stalked pass Dr Lee, giving him a death glare the devil himself would be proud of, and the automatic doors swished open for me to exit. I stop before leaving.

"Someone stitch her up," I commanded, before continuing to walk out of the operating room. Sweat dripped down my forehead, drenching my face. It felt like as if kilos of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders. I was relieved, extremely relieved.

"How was work?" I asked my brother, playing with my food.

"What work? I quit 2 weeks ago," he chuckled at my stupidity.

"I forgot," I mumbled, poking sullenly at my food with embarrassment.

"You should get more rest. You're spending too much time at the hospital,"my brother says matter-of-factly. "How about a vacation? Where do you want to go? America? Australia? Europe?" he attacked me with questions and didn't even give time for me to absorb them let alone give an answer.

"You know I hate planes," I reminded him with a glare.

"Oh yeah," he blurted, as he remembered.

Maybe he's right. Maybe I do need a break from all this stress, but I'm not the kind to travel. I hated travelling. It's on my bucket list of 'Things-Not-To-Do'.

"But it's different now," my brother added. "The last time you went on a plane, you were 12. You're 26 now."

"I'm still not travelling anywhere," I assured him, and placed my plate in the dishwasher.

"I'm going to do work now. I'll kill you if you come knocking on my door, do you understand?" I hissed as I ascended the stairs.

"Yes, yes, do whatever you want," I heard a sigh after his words.

"Good boy," I complimented, smiling wickedly, before opening the study room door.

"Excuse me?!" I heard him bark from downstairs.

"Excuse me isn't my name!" I yelled back, and entered the room. I walked over to sit at my desk and picked up a pen. I tapped it on the table multiple times to help me think, and started writing on a lined piece of paper.

I opened my laptop and started the monotonous task of going through documents that were sent in. It was all paper work that I had to print off, sign, and send back to whoever had sent it. After a few hours of staring at the screen, my eyes grew heavy. So heavy, I didn't even know it when I had fallen asleep on my laptop.

~

"Minji-ah, let's go for ice cream!" I squealed, and wrapped my arm around her. I looked at her face, only to see it turn a sickly pale grey.

"Minji-ah, what's wrong?" I whispered, terrified.

"Minji, talk to me," I panicked, beads of sweat starting to form on my forehead. I tried to hold her up, as she collapsed like a sack of potatoes, limp and heavy.

"Hye Jin, I can't-" she tried to say.

"Minji-ah, don't scare me!" I cried, on the verge of tears, violently shaking her. "You're going to be okay."

"Someone please help!! Help!!" I was screaming at this point, letting tears blur my vision and run down my cheeks. I couldn't see anything in front of me.

"Call the ambulance!" I heard someone call out next to me.

~

"MINJI!!"

I opened my eyes to see the familiar ceiling of the study. Another dream? I pressed a key to turn the laptop back on and look at the time. It displayed '4:21am' and my eyes widened to see how late it was.

"Yes it is very late," I heard a deep voice behind me, as if he could read my thoughts.

"WHAT THE F**K!" I burst, seeing my brother leaning against the wall behind me, his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Alright, get to bed," he ordered as he pushed my chair out from the study and into my bedroom.

"You scared me, you freak!" I yelled at him as he pushed the wheels of chair towards the side of my bed.

"You're welcome," he laughed evilly and tipped me harshly onto my bed.

"What were you doing behind me anyway?" I asked, pulling the blanket over my body.

"Just staring," he shrugged as if it were no big deal and left the room, closing the door behind him.

Staring? At 4 in the morning? That's kind of creepy...
