"It's him!" I told Lisa, as I ran towards him, right into his arms. "What took you so long?" I asked him with a worried expression on my face. "You know I was in the hospital" he stated blankly. "Yeah, how are you now Mr.Roosevelt?" I brought a slight smile onto my face. "Mr.Roosevelt?" he asked, puzzled. "Just because my name is Theodore..." he sighed and continued "Call me how you used to, I kinda missed it."
"Kinda?" I squinted.
"Okay lots" he admitted.
"So Thor, what happened to your arm? Did it break trying to lift Thor's hammer? I know I call you Thor but that doesn't mean you have to prove it."
"Oh shut up" he laughed. How I had missed that face of his. "You aren't going to quit calling me that right?" my best friend enquired. "Nope" was my answer.
Lisa reached after me. "Hey!" Theo exclaimed. "Theo! Long time no see" she began. "You were supposed to be visiting me with cards and flowers" Theodore expressed with a childish pout. "We could come only once. Sorry Thor, we had absolutely no time on our hands" I explained. "And anyways you're fine now" I tried convincing him. "Hey Liz did she actually shed tears on hearing of my accident?" he asked, the corners of his lips breaking into a smile. "You bet!" she winked. "Aw" he fake sympathized "this lioness wept for me?" "Yeah I'm having second thoughts on doing that now" I grumbled, making him pat my head like a child.
I saw Dan searching for us until he spotted Liz, gave a quick hi-fi to one girl and a guy and came to us. Clearly his friend zone was increasing. "Morning Dan! Meet Thor, Thor this is Dan" I introduced them to each other. "Hello" Dan greeted him, carefully shaking his uninjured right arm as though that was injured too. "Hello, I'm Theodore. New here?" he asked. "Yeah" Dan said "For how long have you known each other?" he continued.
"Oh we know each other for seven years now" I answered the question which was originally directed to Theo "Wait till you meet our entire group."
Theo shrugged and nodded like he was going to say the same thing that I just did.
After school we met Theo and his cousin, Melanie, standing near the gates, who had come from their computer class. "You planned your discharge from the hospital right with your birthday timing" Lisa announced like it was her great discovery. "Uh huh, tomorrow's his birthday!" Mel agreed to what Lisa said and went back to blowing a bubble with her gum. "Tomorrow's a Saturday and we don't have much homework this weekend. Let's have a party tomorrow evening at our place. What say people?" I asked enthusiastically. "Yeah, cool!" Liz and Mel chorused. Dan looked uncomfortable throughout. "Dan you got to come too, we'll get to know each other better" I told him, earning nods of approval from the other three. "Um.. it's your group, I'll just be like an outsider" he commented. "No way, Serena won't make you feel like one" Lisa dramatized. She eyed me, and I smiled goofily at her words.
"It's my birthday and I officially invite you" Theo remarked, after which Dan agreed to be there. "All right then, eight o clock, tomorrow, my place" I told them and left with Lisa. We had lots to plan and do.
That evening I called my mom. 'Hey Mom!'
'Hey sweetie!'
'How are you? How's dad? Is he busy?'
'All fine and yes he's still in office, working on that project of his.'
'Okay, I and Liz are hosting a party tomorrow evening, just wanted you to know.'
'Oh that's great, have fun.'
'Sure, it's Theo's birthday!'
'Yes I remember, do wish him from my side. I will be calling him myself too.'
