About You [COMPLETED]

I sat against the window pane with a mug of hot chocolate in my hands that warmed up my palms and my insides with a single small sip. It rained outside with a force that was lesser than the the previous two days. Lisa sat on the dining table re-reading Harry Potter with Mel while I listened to music.

I felt my name being called out so I unplugged my earphones and looked at Liz and Mel but they were engrossed in the magical world. Why did I always feel like I'm called when I'm listening to songs. I sighed and plugged my earphones back in only to hear the doorbell ring.

"Liz! Mel!" I screamed over the sound that played in my ears. But neither of them stirred from their seats. I had to get the door myself. Putting down the mug on the ledge, I got up and straightened my pyjamas. "Coming" I shouted and hobbled to the door. It was Kam.

"Ditching me and having fun eh?" she asked, coming in and placing her open umbrella on the floor for the water to slide off and dry. "Fun?" I asked, pointing at my fellow Potterheads. "Wow, this must be their hundredth time right" she rolled her eyes exasperatedly. "I mean that book's lovely but let's do something together" I sighed.

"Let's watch a movie" she suggested, making Mel's ears perk up. "What movie?" she turned and asked. "Some thriller" I smiled to myself, flopping over the couch and holding the remote. "We're in" Mel said and shut the book, getting a loud squeal from Liz. "I was on the good part" she sulked but made her way to the couch, curious to know what we were going to watch.

"Let's watch a romantic one instead" Liz said and nudged me with her elbow. "Oh yes, it can be of great guidance for dear Ser" Kam laughed. "Do I have to be the target for all of our talks" I folded my arms across my chest and looked at them defensively. "Yup" they said together.

"How about baking some goodies" Mel's eyes shone with the thought. "Yes!" Kam shot up from her seat. "I can already imagine it on my tastebuds" I smacked my lips and we went next door to Kam and Mel's to do some baking. The weather was perfect too.

After filling the cupcake batter in some paper cups we put them in the oven, impatient for them to get all done.

"Considering that my nose is blocked, I still can get that delicious aroma" Liz wafted some warm vapours towards her nose, closing her eyes and indulging in the pleasures of the smell. "I can't wait to eat 'em" Mel poked her finger into one cupcake and immediately removed it, getting her finger burnt.

"Hey cupcake, you gotta wait" Kam pointed her thumb back at the wall clock while Mel sprinted to the sink to hold her finger under the water. "Don't call me cupcake" Mel commanded. "Why? Is that reserved solely for Ace?" I teased, wiggling my eyebrows. "No" she laughed and removed her hand from under the water.

It was time to hog on the cakes when my mom called. We usually talked everyday but the last time she and Dad had called, was on my birthday.

"Hey mom"
"Hey Serena" my dad said happily.
"Oh it's you Dad" I chirped.
"No no, it's mom whose voice just got transformed into a man's" he went on, dragging the words like mom usually did. I laughed at that comment.
"Sure Dad, how are you? I was going to call this evening"
"Really? We thought you forgot us"
"Is that possible?" I giggled. I sure missed them both.
"Serena!" my mom took over with her overly happy tone.
"Mom!" I imitated her but she didn't realise.
"Guess what, we have a surprise. Actually it would be more of a surprise if I don't tell you this but I can't keep it from you anymore"
"Tell me"
"We are coming over for Christmas!"she exclaimed. Now that was one unexpected surprise.
"Woah, that's great!" I stated, not knowing how exactly to react. It was good news but it also meant that some of our plans weren't going to be carried out.

After speaking more on usual incidents that occurred in life and giving details on what I ate during breakfast, lunch and dinner, I cut the call. Christmas was in a short while, I couldn't wait to see my family and eat cakes made by mom.
