Chapter 3: friends and ex friends
"Where are we going, Aiden?" I say, slightly smiling.
"You'll see." Aiden replys, smiling.
He brought me to the same park that I said goodbye.
"It's dark. We should go back home."
"Wouldn't you want to stay with me instead, Tessie?" He says, smirking at me.
He grabs my hand and pulls me close to his chest. I stare at his chest, avoiding eye contact with him. He places his hand on my check, making me look into his eyes. He leans close to me, our lips centimeters apart.
He grabs my face and his lips hit mine-
I wake up, sweating. I sit up and look around. My eyes land on Joey who is looking at me confused.
"You okay? You were saying stuff in your sleep." His lips form into a smile.
"What was I saying?" I ask him.
"I don't know. I couldn't make it out."
I sigh in relief. And ask him kindly to leave my room so I could change.
Joey leaves my room, shutting the door behind him.
Why was I dreaming about Aiden?
***
I close the car door and turn to Joey.
"Okay, I'm ready." I say to him.
He smiles and starts the car, "How're you feeling?"
"Nervous. Mostly excited though." I lie with a small smile. The truth was the complete opposite of what I said.
The drive to Mystic High was short but once we got there I was feeling butterflies in my stomach.
I step out of the car and face the school. My brother was only one year older than me so at least I would have him with me.
I sigh and see something flutter near my shoulder. I turn to see my shoulder and see a little mayfly on my shoulder. I stare at it and smile.
I hear someone scream my name behind me and it flies away. I frown at the sight and turn to the direction of the screaming. I see Trinity running towards me, her arms extending. My eyes widen and I run to her. We crash into each other and fall to the ground, laughing.
"I can't believe it's you!" She says and pulls me into a hug, squeezing the life out of me.
She visited me only once when I was at New York but we usually face timed each other.
"T-Trinity, your gonna hug me to death." I say and her grip loosens.
She smiles shyly, "Sorry! I'm just so excited to see you!"
I smile, "I'm so glad your here."
"Come on! We have to get to first period."
She gets up, pulling me besides her. I look around, trying to find Joey but it seems like he left me. Great, now I'm alone.
Well, at least I have Trinity.
Trinity turns to me, a huge smile on her face.
"Your brother left with some friends." She says when she notices me looking around, "Your brother parked in the worst spot ever."
"Really?"
"Yup. He parked near the group of guys who play football."
She grabs my arm and pulls me across the parking lot. After a while, she lets go and we keep walking.
"Watch out!" A voice yells
I stop and turn to see a football coming straight for my face. I quickly shut my eyes close and hope it doesn't hit me.
Well, you guessed it, it hits me right in the side of my head.
The ball knocks me to the ground. I look over to Trinity and see her covering her mouth with her hands. Her eyes are wide.
"You okay?" I hear someone say.
I turn to the voice to see the guy who lived next door to me. I stare at him and then at his hand when he extends it out to me.
He gives me a confused look and then I grab his hand and he pulls me up. I stumble into his chest when my legs give out and he helps me up.
"sorry." He says looking at me but you can tell that he doesn't mean it, he stops looking at me and turns to look at a guy with blonde hair, "Tyler was supposed to catch the ball."
"I thought you were throwing it to Connor!" He defends himself.
The guy next to him, Connor, scoffs "He specifically told you to go long, idiot."
I ignore them and give him a small smile, stepping away from him.
"I- it's fine. Uh I should go now. My friend is waiting for me."
He nods and smiles and me again. I turn to Trinity. Her mouth is open and her eyes are still wide.
"What are you doing?!" She yells at me.
"Oh I'm fine. Thanks for caring." I say sarcastically.
"You do know who that is right?" She says, ignoring my comment.
"Yeah, he's my neighbor." I say, looking back at the guy who is tossing the football to his friend, Connor.
"That's Aiden!" She says.
My eyes widen when I hear his name and I turn back to Trinity, searching her eyes to make sure she wasn't joking.
"Are you serious!" I yell at her.
"Yeah!" She yells back at me.
I look back at Aiden, he's laughing and putting a hand through his hair. His laugh is so beautiful. There's no way that's him. It's been 4 years since I've seen him. He couldn't have changed that much. Did I change? He sure didn't recognize me so I must've changed a bit. I am older but have I really changed that much?
"What are you going to do?" Trinity asks me.
I sigh, turning away from Aiden. "I'm going to go to class." I say and start walking away from Aiden.
Trinity follows behind me, looking back at Aiden. Her eyes widen again and she grabs my arm again, pulling me away and trying to make me not look at Aiden again. I turn to see what was happening and see Aiden kissing some girl.
What the hell?

In case you don't know what a Mayfly is, it is an insect. They are also known as Canadian soldiers. They are seen in some places in North America. I was originally going to put butterfly but that's a little too cliche, isn't it? I mean, the story has many cliches so might as well make it a Mayfly. I personally love mayflies so that's how I chose it. :) hope you enjoyed the chapter! <3 Oh! And be excited for chapter 4. The chapter is called "Promises"
