Chapter 13: The Party

•Tessa's point of view•

I find Connor leaning against his car, watching some guys play soccer. He notices me and gives me a small smile. I smile at him and keep walking towards him.

"You look beautiful today." He tells me and his smile widens.

I look at what I'm wearing and blush. I was wearing jeans with a plain white top.

I look back at him, "You wanted to talk to me?"

"Uh.. yeah. I- I was going to ask you if you were going to the party tonight." He says.

"Yeah, I'm going. I still don't know what I'm going to wear but I'm going."

"Great, I'll see you there then." He says and looks at his car, "I'll drive you home."

"Okay, thanks." I say and he opens the door for me. I have a seat and he closes the door.

After searching for the right outfit for an hour and 20 minutes, I decided to give up.

The door swings open and my mom steps in, holding a bag.

"Hello, sweetheart." My mom says and sits besides me on the bed. "You okay?"

"No, I have nothing to wear."

"Tessa, you have plenty of clothes!" She says, getting up and walking to my closet. She looks through it and takes out a few dresses. "How about this one?" She says and holds up a simple red dress that I wore for my 15th birthday.

"Mom, I haven't worn that for a year."

She sighs, giving up. But then her eyes light up, "Well your in luck because I got you this." She says and takes out a white dress. "I was originally going to give it to you for you to wear on your birthday but..."

"It beautiful." I say and she hands me the dress and smiles at me. I usually hate my moms sense in fashion but the dress was actually beautiful.

I look up to her and smile, "Thank you."

"Your welcome. Sooo... who are you going with? Trinity? Or maybe... Aiden?" She says and smirks at me.

I roll my eyes, "Actually Aiden is going with me."

Her eyes light up, "Really!? Oh I hope you have an amazing time!" she says and smiles, "Tell me if he kissed you!" She says and her smile widens.

After doing my makeup and hair, I put on the dress and hear a honk coming from outside. I look out the window to see a car. A car?

I walk down the stairs to hear my mom talking to someone.

"Oh look! Here she comes!" My mom says happily.

Aiden stands in the doorway and his eyes widen when he see me. I instantly feel embarrassed and walk over to my mom.

"Oh my god, Tessa! You look so beautiful!" My says, as she smiles with tears in her eyes.

I try my best to not roll my eyes and look at Aiden.

"Well you two have fun!" My mom says, "Don't forget to tell me if he kisses you!" She whispers to me and disappears into the kitchen.

Aiden stares at me and then looks at his feet. He was wearing a plain, simple gray shirt with black jeans. He nervously runs a hand though his dark brown hair and looks back up at me, taking his hands out of his pockets.
