Kwangmin carried Maxim out of the gym and decided to take her to the clinic, there were classes still going on so no one noticed them. He knows that once the nurses see Maxim’s bruises they will immediately ask what happened, and Kwangmin didn’t want to explain anymore. So when he entered the clinic and the nurses’ gazes are all on him he hypnotized them all to shut up and ignore him, and so they did.
Kwangmin laid Maxim on one of the beds, she was badly bruised but then Kwangmin had no intention healing them himself. He could easily make those bruises disappear but he won’t.
“These…” Kwangmin poked the bruise on Maxim’s arm, it was blackish blue and looked really ugly, “Will serve as a reminder for you that the world is cruel and you should hate and loathe the people who have done this to you” he stood up and got some antiseptic and cotton balls, the least that he could do now is to clean that bleeding lip of hers.
Maxim felt the sting and woke up, eyes fluttering and saw Kwangmin right away smiling genuinely at her. “This guy…” she muttered and groaned at the pain of the antiseptic.
“Do you feel any better?” Kwangmin asked, but he only earned a glare.
“How am I supposed to be better if you’re putting antiseptic on my lip?” Maxim angrily replied and Kwangmin just chuckled.
“Well it’s supposed to heal your wound missy!” Kwangmin playfully pinched her cheeks and Maxim sits up so that he would stop. “We’re in the school clinic, I found you in the gym and so I took you here”
“T-thanks…I really don’t want to be in school right now, and I don’t want to go home either” Maxim said glumly as she rubbed her bruise on her arm.
“You are in no condition to wander around the city either; we could go to my house if you want. Spend the time there and I could take you home if you want to go home” Kwangmin suggested, I the history of Maxim’s life she had never visited a friend’s house so the invitation that she was given right now seemed awkward, but she really doesn’t want to stay in school so she just nodded.
“Are your parents okay with it if I go there?” Maxim suddenly realized but Kwangmin shook his head.
“They are not home, they are in…Korea. I live alone.” Kwangmin replied as he helped her get up. “We’ll take the cab”
Maxim blushed on the thought that they are going to be alone but then she shook it off, they are only friends and friends help each other if one is in trouble, it’s just that it was new to her that she has a friend.
“Where do you live anyway?” Maxim asked and Kwangmin couldn’t make up something, of course for the past days he would get in and out of the hotels in the city without paying, he could get away with it anyway because he could just transport himself everywhere, but now he has to make extra effort taking Maxim to his ‘home’.
“You’ll see” Kwangmin smiled again and Maxim just nodded, they skipped the rest of the class that afternoon and took a cab, Kwangmin had instructed the driver to go to the East side subdivision and the cab roared away. Maxim got curious all of a sudden, the East side subdivision only opened last year and only a few people live there. There are houses still under construction and there are many empty lots as well, not to mention the houses for sale there are very expensive. After a 30-minute ride they finally arrived in the entrance of the subdivision and the driver dropped them off.
“We could walk from here to the house, you can manage right?” Kwangmin asked but then he noticed hat Maxim was limping, “How insensitive of me, ride on my back I’ll carry you”
“W-what? No! I can walk don’t worry, you’ll just stress yourself” Maxim declined; she really doesn’t want to trouble him anymore.
“Your limping, I insist you take my offer. Don’t be stubborn now; I’m your friend am I?” Kwangmin pouted at her but she was still uneasy about it, the word friend struck her again.
