Loki's POV:

I had found Ayesha's place of dwelling. The back enterance was stupidly unlocked and inside was a hum of mortals in the opposite room.

I sneaked past without being noticed, humans they're so trivial. I had to find Ayesha, the last time I saw her she wasn't doing so good.

(FLASHBACK)

I was in my cell in Asgard, furious as to have had no sentence or trial. This was yet another injustice that had befallen on me. I had business to do, and all I asked was that I would be allowed to do it. Was I? No, of course not. It's me we're talking about here. The monster nobody trusts but everybody hates. Not bad actually...

I lied down, an Ancient Asgardian book had grabbed my attention. As I thumbed the pages, delving between the words. Ayesha's voice boomed thunderously through my head, my skull stung, I became disorientated and groaned out loud in agony as I rolled violently onto the floor. My vision was covered by the sight of Ayesha in her room, her mother wiping her head with a piece of cloth to keep the fever down before leaving the room. Concentrating, I projected myself into Ayesha's perception, I could see her and she could see me.

"Ayesha," I breathed, lowering myself to her bedside, "What happened to you?"

"Loki!" Ayesha smiled. She was pleased to see me, in her eyes I could tell she had been missing me, I had been away for two months. Her eyes were hollow, she was too skinny and sweating profusely. "I'm not well." She confessed.

"I can see that."

"The doctors haven't seen anything like it before, the medical tests say there is nothing wrong, mother thinks it's the powers you gave me."

"Nonsense! Wait you told your mother about me?"

"I had to! She saw the magic."

"I see," I stiffened and became serious. This child had made the mistake of depending on another, I should know I did the same with Frigga. If only she knew that revealing her tricks to another earthling would increase her chances of encountering the pests that are the avengers.

"Don't be annoyed Loki, please, mother doesn't hate you okay?"

"It's not that I," Just as I was in mid sentence, Ayesha reached our to me, breaking the projection, "I'm coming back, I promise," I vowed as I disappeared from view and reappeared back in my cell in the Asgardian dungeons.

The pain had fled from me, leaving me all alone....

(End of flashback)

I found her room quite easily, it was the only room decorated with black and green and sketches of me scattered around the walls. It was empty, looking around I realised Ayesha had as much attachment and interest in me as I did her, bound together by a common cause, we were both alone and yearning for something more.

I heard footsteps racing up towards the bedroom door, it slowly opened and I stood face to face with a new human, another meagre female, she was tall, slender, had the same emerald eyes and long layered raven locks...

Could it be?

"Loki!" The earthling disgustingly squealed, embracing me as if I was a long lost friend, and filled with complete happiness. This creature was indeed Ayesha.

I pulled Ayesha's arms that were wrapped round my waist away and held Ayesha by the shoulders, I can usually understand everything but not this.

"How long have I been away?" I stammered, frowning. It couldn't have been that long.

"It's been three years since you were here in person but you came to visit for a short moment a when I wasn't well as well a number of other times before that, but you were always a projection, this is he second time I've seen you physically in person." She explained casually, how could she not notice the strange occurrence surrounding her. "Loki? My friend are you alright?"

"Three years? You must be about fifteen Midgard year by now correct?" I deduced, the powers that I gave her could not have caused this change, "but you look -" she cut me off quite rudely.

"Nineteen?" I nodded, circulating and allowing her to continue. "Technically I'm supposed to be fifteen but my mind and body has aged quite rapidly, I'm not too sure why, I figured you'd know."

Of course. Everyone presumes I, Loki will know because I've least a great deal of secrets but never in my life had i encountered this before.

Just then a woman, Ayesha's mother entered, annoyingly without notice. I stared at her, my face wearing no expression, watching her warily and letting Ayesha handle the situation.

"Mother, may I formally introduce to my best friend, Loki," wait did she just call me her friend! Her best friend? This human didn't know what she was saying, she shouldn't trust me so much. I don't make friends, they are an unnecessary distraction if they cannot be of use. But she was one the handful of souls I actually cared about, why else would I have gone back to Earth. No, I told myself, you not falling for this, you must not let yourself go soft.

"Loki?" The human mother looked to me, cautiously aswell she should, "I thought I recognised you, from Ayesha's drawings!"

"Mother, I haven't seen him in a long time"

"I understand, I'll think of something to tell the others and our guests."

"Guests?" I queried when the woman had finally let myself and Ayesha have a moment alone, "what's the occasion?"

"My birthday, I've turned nineteen, remember?"

"Of course."

I wiped my hands together, not sure what I was doing, and with my powers I brought a pair of heeled boots from Asgard. Why? Was I going soft? I continued to turn of these thoughts, blocking the feeling, but it was growing, it had been for some time. Like Ayesha said, the two of us had a friendship.

"Oh Loki they're beautiful, and a perfect fit!" She was grateful for the gift I had handed to her as she admired them on her feet. I had decided, it was getting too far now. I had gotten to know her so well and she me even if most of the time we met it was through projections while i was in prison. But I must confess seeing her was the happiest moments during my life in my cell.

"You said when you were younger that you would love too see new worlds, is that dream still strong?" I tempted, smiling warmly, urging Ayesha to the open window.

"Yes, of course it is! That would be the most amazing thing!"

"Heimdell open the BiFrost!" I demanded loudly, addressing the sky.

"Where are we going?"

"Asgard," I declared, wasn't it obvious though? That's the only place I ever told her about. I had to conceal her, not a difficult task, I once secretly let in frost giants into Asgard so one human wouldn't be an issue. But I had to take Ayesha through by hiding her from Heimdalls sight. Tricking Heimdall? I do that so often that it has become quite a habit!
