WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY at the black lake spread around the Hogwarts castle like wildfire. Before Sirius could even fully comprehend what happened to him, he was getting comments of sympathy from the people around him. Most of the people he didn't even know. What Sirius did know is that he still had to make it up to the other marauders, even though they said they forgave him.
"Where the hell are you taking us Sirius?" Arabella asked.
It was a bright spring afternoon, a week after the incident, and Sirius was leading the rest of the Marauders outside the castle.
"I swear if you're still under that potion and you are leading us to our deaths, you should know that I have a family that loves me." James joked. "Too soon?"
Sirius didn't take the joke to heart and just gave a laugh, "We're almost there. Don't worry."
Sirius led them to the Black Lake where a small picnic was set up. A red and white blanket was laid on top of the freshly cut grass. A slight breeze was blowing and flowers were slowly starting to bloom. Spring at Hogwarts was truly a sight to behold and even the mouthwatering food that was set up couldn't stop the five from appreciating it.
"Sirius, it's beautiful." Arabella gasped as soon as she saw it.
"Well, I also had a little help from the elves in the kitchen for the food."
"You didn't have to do this, Padfoot." Remus said, sitting down on the blanket, the rest following soon after.
"I wanted to. I was kind of a dick." Sirius said. "Now that I say that out loud, it sounds like such a huge understatement. I was an arsehole, a prick-"
"A giant pain in the arse?" James interjected.
"That too." Sirius laughed. "Basically every bad thing you can think of, I was. And even though I was in some sort of spell, I want to make it up to you guys."
"Apology speech!" Arabella cheered jokingly, the four laughing uncontrollably afterwards.
"But really guys," Sirius said, calming down from his laughing fit. "I don't deserve your forgiveness. At least not yet when I haven't done anything to earn it. Spell or not, potion or not, I was a huge dick. I'm truly sorry and to show how sorry I am, I'm going to do everything in my power to make it up to you guys. Starting with making up all the time I spent ditching you four."
"Well, that's a great start Padfoot." James smiled
Peter, Remus, and Arabella nodded in agreement.
"Well, I for one, just want to start eating because this looks delicious." Peter said causing everyone to start laughing again.
"What are we waiting for?" Remus asked smiling as everyone took a bite out to eat.
"Lucky that no one went in here and got the food while we were gone." Arabella remarked wistfully.
"Oh, that's because I blackmailed Regulus to stand and watch while I was going to get you guys." Sirius said nonchalantly, taking a bite of his sandwhich.
"What did you use for blackmail?" Remus asked.
"Now, that is a family secret." Sirius winked.
"Now this whole getting brainwashed was terrible and all, Padfoot." James joked. "But it's nothing like walking around Hogwarts in a skirt."
