Time has taken its sweet time
And moves as it pleases
It makes the best moments short
And hard ones too long
It guarantees you
That you'll never have enough
But when I look back on it
I only see the wasted moments
I witness my regrets
And time simply goes on
It doesn't stop and wait
It just keeps its own agenda
Time doesn't care
How we choose to spend it
It just makes life fly by
It is the people that steal it from us
The end isn't what's terrifying
It's the fact that we've wasted it all
That you had no impact
On anything at all
It is the thought of being forgotten
And nobody missing you
It is leaving this world
With no trace of you being here
Time moves as it wants
You'll never have enough, dear
It doesn't matter who you effect
So long as you feel like you lived
There is nothing we can do
To stop the fact that we waste it
We live in haste and can't relive it
We can't go back
Time isn't stalling
But we watch from afar
A world turns rapidly
But we remain as we are
We don't fly off in to the fray
Or off in gentle breezes
As time continues to do
Whatever it pleases
